It is now anticipated t...hat the towels will be mailed out just after Cuboree due to shipping delays from overseas. While we will endeavour to see if we can get the towels out earlier if they arrive in time this is unlikely. There is also a slight delay to the format. Here is a chance for you to put forward ideas and take part in discussions about Scouting in the region as well as discussing current QLD and National issues. Representatives from QLD Branch Youth Council will be running the sessions and should you wish to go further you can discuss applying for a position on QLD Branch Youth Council. Scouts, Venturer Scouts, if you wish to attend the Region Youth Council on 14 Nov 2015, please inform your Scout Leader/Venturer Leader and they will forward on your details to the Region Commissioner. What does it entail? * We have 1 evening of meetings on a Monday every 3 months.... * Take the minutes for the District executive meeting and the minutes for the Rowallan Park management meeting. * Send minutes and agenda to executive by email * Must have a sense of humour * NOT already on a parent committee or a leader (you need to focus on your Group, they need you) * Register as an Adult member of scouting and complete required elearning child safe and WHS modules. 01.01.2022 Last Wednesday, Senior Inspectors from the Petroleum and Gas Inspectorate were called to an incident in the Brisbane CBD due a strong smell of gas in the basement carpark of a high-rise building. 4 x Firecrews, 1 x Ambulance crew and several Police officers were on site. The car park was evacuated and all power and gas was isolated whilst gas detection took place. After 3 hours and several inspections the culprit was discovered. A single LP Gas cylinder commonly used with BBQs was discovered on its side with a partially opened valve in the rear of a 4WD. Apart from the obvious dangers, the owner may also face a large bill for the manpower involved in this incident.
