16.01.2022 Dear Parents/ Caregivers, At this present stage the Queensland Teacher’s Union, with the advice from the National Cabinet, has advised schools to postpone parent-teacher interviews until later in the year. As a school we do not take this decision lightly nor without the understanding of the impact. We do however, need to prioritise staff safety and wellness. We would encourage you to contact your child’s classroom teacher via class dojo to receive updates on your child’s prog...ress. Schools are still required to hold two face-to-face meetings with parents, under the 2006 Education Act, and we still intend to honour this. The time frame for these meetings has not yet been determined, however we will keep you informed as any new information comes to light.

15.01.2022 Mark in your calendar: Friday 4th September Pupil Free Day. There will be no school for students on Friday 4th September.

14.01.2022 To all parents who have children starting on Monday 11th, In keeping with government regulations around social distancing we have made some changes as to where you are to pick up your child. Attached is a map of where your classroom teacher will meet you in the afternoon to release your child. We kindly ask that you do not enter the classrooms and remain in the area that has been allocated, resepectively keeping 1.5m from any adult. Your child's teacher will communicate as ...soon as they can the expectations behind this and you will be able to dojo any of your concerns. We thank you so much for your understanding during these difficult times. Our priority is to have our students in a routine and continue being aware of the current situation whilst this pandemic and restrictions continue.

14.01.2022 Hey Sarina, check out Ms Kirk reading one of her favourite books. Make sure to leave a like when you're done. Enjoy!

14.01.2022 Good afternoon Sarina SS Community, Please be aware our Term 2 Behaviour Award is a 'Red Food Day'. The attached flyer has the red food items that can be purchased at the tuckshop. We kindly, ask that you don't send your child with $20 to spend entirely on the red food items. Students in Prep to Year 2 will be pre-ordering from their classroom. In order for this to work, the teacher will need you to put the money in a bag that clearly lists what your child will be ordering ...and handed to the classroom teacher at the beginning of the day. Students in Year 3-6, will order directly from the tuckshop, but will be monitored carefully. Thank you all for your support and patience. Once again, congratulations to all students successfull in Term 2 achieving the school's behaviour expectations.

06.01.2022 Sarina State School today gathered to pay respect to the Anzac's. We commemorated the Anzac's by laying wreaths, listening to the 'Last Post' and completing a minute silence. It was a beautiful short service. We thank all men and women involved in the Australian armed forces for their sacrifices both in past and present. We have made a wreath display at the front gate of the school on Broad St. We know many 'at-home' students worked on some Anzac craft and if you have a wreath and would like to contribute to the school display, feel free to attach yours to the school gate. Thank you all for your understanding and support. Lest we forget.
