25.01.2022 We are a bit late, but better late than never right??? Huge Congratulations to our fabulous Dr Meg on her engagement to Mitch. We wish you guys all the very best.
25.01.2022 NOTICE we will be closed from 11am to 3pm on November 18th for staff training. We strive to provide you and your pets with quality, individualised care, and part of being able to achieve this is continual training with our wonderful team of staff. This time we're focusing on communication to improve both our team's relationship and the service we provide to you all. While we won't be doing any surgeries on this day, we're still open for morning and afternoon consults, and will have a vet on call for emergencies during this time.
25.01.2022 A lot of you will have been greeted at the clinic by this sweet little dog, or have seen her sunbaking on the grass as you pull up to the surgery. In case you havent had the pleasure of meeting her, this is our practice manager's dog Saski. Saski has a rare genetic disease called Raines Disease that occurs sometimes in Border Collies. This means that her teeth are very brittle with poor enemal, therefore more likely to get infected. Today we had to put Saski under anaesthetic once again to remove a number of diseased teeth. She is now recovering well and getting all the cuddles
23.01.2022 'Aw he's as snug as an owl in a towel' (Dr. Jo, 10-08-2020)
21.01.2022 'Sir Walter' likes to think he's a dog, we didn't want to be the ones to break it to him!
21.01.2022 We are looking for someone who can put our billboard sign back up. It blew down in a storm. Located at Sarina Showgrounds.
20.01.2022 Long hours, poor pay, abuse from clients, intense grief from losing critical patients, euthanasia’s & grieving with clients. These things make working in the in...dustry difficult. We feel a roller coaster of emotions every day and for some it takes its toll and they leave the industry.....or worse. Not only does the veterinary industry have the worst rate of suicide of any profession but it’s at a crisis point. Too many vets are leaving the industry and there is a serious shortage in Australia. It takes on average 6 months to find a new veterinarian and a lot of positions never get filled. As a result, practice owners can’t get the help they need in their businesses and are working 50-60 hours every week with no holidays. Burn out & family breakdowns are rife. Today I’m shouting out to every single person in the veterinary industry to say ‘thanks’. Thanks for staying to help animals when so many are leaving. Thanks for putting up with crap pay & working your guts out. Thanks for holding back the tears when another client tells you ‘You’re just in it for the money’, when in reality you’re still driving the bomb of a car you had at uni. Thanks for staying on so animals can get the medical care they need and deserve. Vets and Nurses out there. You guys are amazing. Thank you for being the wonderful humans you are and being the voice for animals. May that little look of love you get from a patient be enough to keep you going through the tough times. Share some love with your vet or nurse when you’re in next. Help me to keep these wonderful people in the industry because a world without vets or nurses is not a nice world at all.
19.01.2022 I am soooooo going to try this
17.01.2022 Dr Bec performing some pretty cool dentistry. This handsome man was chewing on a wire panel, and wore his teeth down quite drastically, but not to the point of pulp exposure. X-rays were taken to make sure his teeth were ok and then we capped the worn areas to protect the tooth and prevent tooth root abscesses. This means his teeth will not have to be extracted. The last part of the treatment, was to prevent access to the wire.
16.01.2022 New intern Ezran looking apprehensive about his first solo spey! Wish him luck
15.01.2022 ahhhh - this is the Dr Bec we are used to. Leaning on the cattle yards, watching someone else do the work....
15.01.2022 This week's patients of the week are Remy and Tye. These two curious fellows came to us for castration with Dr Jo. While our favourite part of having them was getting lots of cute photos, theirs was their post-surgery snack of strawberries.
15.01.2022 We love a good before and after! Did you know 80% of dogs and cats over the age of 3 have dental disease? If you’ve noticed any signs such as smelly breath, gingivitis or tartar buildup on your pet’s teeth, give us a call to book in for an appointment with one of our vets for a dental quote.
15.01.2022 Best wishes to all our amazing clients over the Xmas and New Years period! We hope you and your animals stay safe and healthy over the break, but if an emergency occurs you will be able to reach one of our vets at all times by calling our after hours number (0428561897) We will be closing a little earlier on both Xmas Eve and New Years Eve and will be closed on the public holidays.
14.01.2022 Little bit of puppy cuteness to get you through the last few hours until the weekend!
13.01.2022 This little cutie was brought in for treatment after its mother sadly died. After some fluids and warming he was able to be picked up by a carer who will care for him until he's able to be released.
12.01.2022 We had a great halloween!!! Dr Ellerah is missing - she got a call out. We hope you all had a great weekend too.
12.01.2022 Ezzy believes in good dental hygiene! Ring up and ask about booking in for a free nurse dental consult
12.01.2022 Dr Bec pretending to be busy. Loves her cattle work. Even if the cows were being a bit stubborn
11.01.2022 Got a little chuckle out of Dr Bec. "She's all bluff.." heard that before....
09.01.2022 We love it when our patients are this well behaved for their nail trims!
09.01.2022 These dogs are keeping the bulls in line with the help of some very special cowboys! After 187 years of breeding cattle in the Kings Plains valley, NSW, t...he Vivers have gone viral. A bit of family fun with some incredible working dogs has led to an audience of over 2 million. : Eaglehawk Angus near Glen Innes
05.01.2022 This female cat has been dumped with us (not by her owner) She has 5 x 4 week old kittens. From Kathleen Street area. Please contact us if you are the owner.
05.01.2022 Little sleepy sugar glider waking up from anaesthetic after being successfully untangled from barbed wire.
05.01.2022 You should NEVER say the Q word. Dr Bec in her element after a 45 minute dash down the highway to perform an emergency caesarean and save the life of this little guy. Mum doing well. It’s a messy job, but someone’s gotta do it.
05.01.2022 In 20 years of working as a vet, I have experienced nearly every single thing mentioned in this programme. Some of these things on a daily basis. It’s worth a watch if you want an insight to how your vet feels after you walk out the door. In the most part, we have awesome clients and work with an amazing team that keep us sane. https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/1736874563554
05.01.2022 What a stupid crazy Friday. But it’s all worth it when we get to send home our gorgeous patients. Meet Belinda a Percy Island goat who did a major injury to her hind leg and needed it amputated.
04.01.2022 Aren't australian native animals the cutest? This is a baby bandicoot that came into the clinic this week. It was given a clean bill of health and is off to a carer to be looked after until it's fully grown.
03.01.2022 8 doses for the price of 5!!!!! TICK FEVER VACCINE must be used this weekend. Ring Sarina Vet Surgery. 07 49561897
03.01.2022 We would like to give a huge shout out to the generous lady ( who wishes to remain anonymous), who paid part of an elderly gentleman’s account last week. It just reinforces what an amazing community we are a part of. Proud to live here.
03.01.2022 We think Spotty has to be one of the luckiest dogs we’ve treated recently! She was a bit silly and managed to get in the way of a Landcruiser Ute. When she arrived at the clinic she was in a very bad way. She had a floppy front leg and was struggling to breathe. X-rays showed that she had a pneumothorax (air outside the lungs) and had ruptured some of the ligaments in her carpus (wrist). She had to go on oxygen and have air drained off her chest, and then later have surgery to repair the ligaments in her leg. She made it through everything like a little trooper and makes us all smile when she’s in, trying to shake hands with everyone
02.01.2022 This is the beautiful Coraline. Her and her babies were abandoned at the surgery last week and she has been staying with us ever since. Her kittens have all found new families but she is still waiting for her forever home. She is extremely friendly, loves cuddles, litter trained, not picky with any food and seems to be very good with dogs and other cats so far. If you are interested in adding this beautiful girl to your family please contact us on 49561897.
01.01.2022 Happy vet nurse day to all the vet nurses out there! We are biased but we think our team of nurses are the absolute best, there is no way the clinic would run without you and we appreciate everything you do
