24.01.2022 We had the opportunity to speak with Elwyn Langford from Wodonga Squash and Racquetball Club, as part of our People You Should Know series. Elwyn has contribute...d so much to our sports! "I believe that one must be prepared to commit fully to an organisation and that usually involves becoming engaged in administration as well as playing. Therefore I joined the committee and progressed to becoming President in 2018. Wodonga has a dedicated committee which is prepared to pitch in and leading it is a rewarding task." Check out Elwyn's story here: http://www.squashvic.com.au//people-you-should-know-elwyn-

20.01.2022 We are all aware of the current COVID19 threat to the nation. We in the country have enjoyed a brief period of insulation from the early danger, but with the recent announcement by the Prime Minister of a ban on all non-essential domestic travel, it is apparent that we will need to pause the InterTown Squash competition. We will monitor the situation as time goes on, but at this stage it looks like we need to abandon the next two rounds in April at least, and re-evaluate in... May regarding Round 4 on May 24. Watch for further updates as events progress. InerTown Sub-committee

16.01.2022 ATTENTION BORDER CLUBS: Interested in encouraging junior participation? The NSW Government $100 voucher scheme is an excellent incentive for kids to try different sports, but is only available to registered providers for each sport. A ‘provider’ must be affiliated with the relevant State Sporting Body in our case, Squash NSW. This body is currently offering an incredible deal with Club level affiliation: for a fee of $110, they will provide two computer tablets to the club for use in any sport related uses. The Club is duly eligible for parents to use their $100 vouchers for their children to sample squash or racquetball. For further information, contact NSW Squash: email: [email protected] or Phone (02) 8736 1244. NSW Government: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/tr/apply-active-kids-voucher

11.01.2022 Today we lost a great friend of the Squash and Racquetball fraternity in the North East of Victoria. Heather Meldrum passed away after a short battle with cance...r. Heather was a great friend to everyone she encountered be it socially or on a squash court. She played on many courts in the North East and travelled throughout Australia participating in Masters Squash tournaments plus Racquetball competitions and tournaments. The contribution that Heather made to the Squash and Racquetball community was invaluable as a committee member at her home club Wangaratta and more recently the Commercial Club Albury. She will always be fondly remembered by the many juniors she has coached and nurtured during their growing years. The knowledge, empathy and display of always respecting her fellow man will by passed on by the students she taught during her working years as a teacher across Victoria and her precious juniors she coached at Wangaratta courts. Our heartfelt condolences go to her children Kara ,Aaron and their families. RIP Heather Meldrum Kindest regards, Ross Falconer

05.01.2022 Phoebe Colman, rising England squash star sponsored by KARAKAL, was asked if she thought that mixing Squash57 with Squash was a good idea for an ambitious squas...h player: "I would definitely recommend mixing them as I think it is great for fitness as the ball is very hard to kill, therefore helping you to believe you can get a lot more balls back in squash. But also think it is great for juniors to do as you have more time and are able to think about shot selection and footwork etc a bit more so helps you apply it back to your squash game." @englandsquash See more
