25.01.2022 Final Instructions for this Saturday's minigaine are found here.

24.01.2022 What a great weekend Oladdie was!

24.01.2022 Oladdie was a great success, let's see some of those photos. Thanks to Rob Tucker for setting and all the volunteer team.

24.01.2022 There were some great fancy dress entrants yesterday. You earned your 30 bonus points!

23.01.2022 Always very popular to have a rogaine in the metro area. Sturt Gorge is almost bush in some spots! Moving the hash house dramatically changes the courses available so don't think it will be a repeat of March. For those of you that went to Oladdie, be assured that there ARE some rocks. But not as many... See you there on Saturday 10th Oct.

23.01.2022 Just saying, don't get too cocky about your ability in Sturt Gorge. The setter is very cunning! Nearly reached a half hundred competitors now, so don't leave it too late to enter.

22.01.2022 Are you leaving work in the dark? Are you craving some time in the gentle winter sunshine? Have your blisters from ‘Deceptive Lands’ healed? Entries are now open for the SA Rogaining association State Champs 24 hr and accompanying 12 hr, 24-25th July, Almerta station, Southern Flinders, $95/ adult, concession $75.

22.01.2022 Early bird entries close Sunday night for SARA’s traditional end of season event which is all about having a great time. Easy navigation, designed with beginners and families in mind. Don’t delay, get your team together and don’t forget your fancy dress if you want those valuable bonus points.

19.01.2022 Hi everyone, if the link in your newsletter to the great post event reports for Oladdie and Sturt II didn't work, sorry about that. Here's a link that takes you straight to it. https://sarogaining.com.au/news/category/event-report/

18.01.2022 What a great Three Hours of Freedom! Join the throng and post your photos here.

18.01.2022 Mitcham Hills 4 Hour Twilight is progressing well. Get your teams together soon as it's only a few weeks until late fees kick in. https://sarogaining.com.au/event/twilight-4-hour-2021/ We are up to 14 teams already and these close events are always very popular.

17.01.2022 Wow, 2020 is the Year of Rogaining in SA! The Minigaine is now in "late fee" mode with 94 teams making up 297 entrants already looking forward to 7 November. If you're still uncertain, make up your mind before entries cut off next weekend. Be part of the biggest rogaine year ever - we have been so fortunate here in SA.

16.01.2022 Final Instructions for Oladdie are now availableon the event page and contain a link from one of the setters that explains some of the history and geology of the region. Make sure you read BOTH before this weekend! https://sarogaining.com.au//oladdie-2020-the-landscape-an/

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, the results of the Minigaine are now up. Congratulations to all, and massive thanks to Bruce for setting, and the entire volunteer team. Making sure everything goes smoothly for 450 people to compete is great fun when it all comes together like today! https://sarogaining.com.au/event/minigaine-2020/#results

13.01.2022 For anyone that missed the newsletter by direct email, here it is. Please share with any non-rogaining friends. (That's people who are yet to experience rogaining. Once you've started, you can never unrogaine.) https://mailchi.mp//twilight-4-hour-entries-open-season-46

10.01.2022 Hi there Rogaining community! Well 2021 is a couple of weeks old and the whole rogaining season is ahead of us. On the 31st we are having our COVID delayed 2020 Volunteers Thank You day. If you haven't replied to the invite yet, please get in touch with Jo asap. The Committee will be meeting in the hour or so beforehand to work on the season's planning. Some things we would like you to know and consider. Firstly, the first event for the year is the 4 Hour based around ...Mitcham Hills on 13 March. That event will include the AGM, hopefully with COVID safe pizzas this year, so consider if you would like to join the band of people that keep rogaining going each year. AND we are looking for a setter(s) for the Bush 6 Hour. The 6 hour bush event is a really good size to cut your rogaine setter's teeth if you've ever thought about moving from just competing to trying to trick the competitors! (Is there an "evil laugh" emoji? Asking for a friend). The setter is fully supported by the Committee to get the event to happen so give it a thought. See more

10.01.2022 This creek bank should be a good navigation catch feature in the middle of the night. Just don't walk off the top of it please.

10.01.2022 State Rogaining Champs - Almerta's Bluff - https://mailchi.mp/sarogaining.com./deceptive-lands-4772801

09.01.2022 More photos from the 'lush' arid lands of Oladdie Hills.

09.01.2022 Well this is the traditional weekend coming up where the entries flood in to avoid the late fees. Get your Sturt Gorge team arrangements finalised and enter before Sunday night! There's been plenty of rain so the river will look delightful, and by the 10th of October we are into the second month of spring.

09.01.2022 Photos from the 2021 Australian Rogaining Championships are now available! SARA was incredibly fortunate to have the talented Tony volunteer his time and expertise as a photographer to take 100s of photos of the event. 5 weeks on, re-live the memories. See you inbox for the link in our latest Rogaining enews - courtesy of our amazing secretary Jo ( sent yesterday)!

08.01.2022 Happy Saturday Rogainers! Thinking about visiting some wide open spaces? Next event is our State champs, at Almerta station in the Southern Flinders ranges, 12 /24 hr options. 24th-25th July. Entries now open!

07.01.2022 Enter 2020's final rogaine, Three Hours of Freedom minigaine, now before it's too late. Entries close this Sunday night.

06.01.2022 Bring along a novice! The 3 Hour Minigaine is the perfect event to introduce someone new to rogaining. Set on the north side around 15 minutes from the GPO, this event offers straight forward navigation, no big hills and the possibility of refreshments at the local shop en route! What more could you ask for? So start talking to that non-rogaining friend.

06.01.2022 Hi Rogainers, the SARA Committee met last Sunday and has started on the process of setting dates for the events next year. What, if any, changes do you think we should include in 2021? We are still uncertain about the status of the deferred 2020 Aust Rogaining Championships, but at this stage we are planning for them in May, 12 months later than expected. Any suggestions? And have a look at these photos... Who can match them with a rogaine?

05.01.2022 Some of you may have noticed that Team 1 for the State 24hr is made up of Mr & Ms TBA. When are they going to "out" themselves??? Can anyone guess who it might be? Entries behave a bit like Covid we have found, they demonstrate exponential growth as the deadline approaches. Flatten the curve, enter now. 24-25 July, Almerta near Carrieton.

05.01.2022 Hey everyone, 3 Hours of Freedom Minigaine late fees start from tonight. Give those procrastinating friends a call today! The Hash House is central to the map, so lots of route choices to make. Which direction will you take? Will you head off to explore streets, parks, playgrounds and perhaps a challenging gully or two? Or will you head for the Dry Creek Linear Park to cross the creek by bridge and ford, travelling through a tunnel or two as you collect points in and around old quarries, old buildings and waterfalls? Note - Dry Creek is not right now!

04.01.2022 Moving right along, the next rogaining event to offer you is right close to home for most people, returning to the very popular Sturt Gorge venue (whilst the map is still up to date ;-)). Saturday 10 October, at 3 pm so it's after school sports! We will post some more of the delightful locations soon...

03.01.2022 Orienteering SA have a pseudo-velogaine on this weekend at Kuitpo for anyone that's keen to get out in the forest again. Check out the event here, but be quick as entries close Wednesday night. https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/10538

03.01.2022 The setting is now complete and Sturt Gorge is looking superb. (The kids had a ball in there today...)
