22.01.2022 An unbelievable amount of work went into the planning, organising and running of the 2020 SOUTH FREMANTLE Festival of Lights to make it the fantastic event that we all enjoyed on Sunday. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, from the volunteers who generously gave their time, to the event staff who ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the event, to our sponsors and co-hosts who made the event possible, to the entertainers who brought so m...uch light and energy to the stage, and to our suppliers who were a pleasure to work with. We’d also like to make a special mention of the work these four amazing people put into the event , local Fremantle Councillor Marija South Ward, was the heart and soul of this event. Working tirelessly in the lead up, we thank Marija for organising such a spectacular event that not only brought the community together after what has been a challenging year but also supported many of our local South Fremantle businesses. () , owner of local Indian restaurant, Saroor, brought the idea of the festival to life. His passion for not only his culture, but for unity amongst the community brought the Indian Festival of Lights, Diwali, along with its positivity, spirit and hope, to the streets of South Fremantle. , Authentic Comedy comedian, life coach, teen educator and creator of The Game Plan, was one of our incredible MCs of the event. Louise brought so much energy and positivity to the stage with her quick wit and awesome sense of humour, she was an absolute pleasure to watch introducing the event happenings throughout the day and night. was the amazing MC working alongside Louise. South Freo local and active member of the Fremantle Sailing Club, Greg’s passion for Fremantle’s cultural diversity was evident through his enthusiasm for every part of the event he introduced for us. Both Greg and Louise MC’d the event out of love for their community, donating their time to make this event an unforgettable experience for South Fremantle. 09.01.2022 We hope the kids enjoyed the SOUTH FREMANTLE Festival of Lights as much as we did last weekend, there certainly was lots for them to see and do! The wonderful zoo keepers from Meet the Animals had a variety of cute creatures there for the kids to see and pet. Did you get to touch the python when he was brought out? The team from Perth Bouncy Castle Hire had two bouncy castles set up all day for the kids to bounce away on.... Fairy Elle from Upstaged Entertainment was in the East West Design building, transforming the kids into their wildest imaginations with her beautiful face painting. The streets were transformed into beautiful pieces of artwork as the kids got creative with chalk. Our MC Louise from Authentic Comedy gave away loads of prizes to the kids throughout the day during her many different quizzes. We even had a beautiful fairy visit us in the afternoon and evening, lighting up in a dazzling display of light as the sun went down.
