24.01.2022 1941 Vintage (Village Blacksmith) Wisconsin Cuttlery Company (W.C.Co) knife recently received from a client in NSW for it's first sharpening since manufacture! Very solid hand-crafted item. Thought I would lash out and take an "after" video to contrast with the "before" photo.

23.01.2022 "AFTER" footage of the Spanish Hunter. My fbook publishing skills letting me down here, apologies :( Hopefully it is obvious which is before and which is after!

23.01.2022 Hello all and welcome to the many new clients who have joined us courtesy of "Uncle Chris". You know who you are :) I will do my best to follow in Chris's footsteps, which will be no mean feat. We have recently started using the Square-Up electronic payment system which sends invoices directly to an email address. Please include your email address along with mailing address and mobile # when you send your equipment in to us. At present turn-around time is 1-2 weeks in shop. I will do my best to maintain this, but please understand it may vary depending on workload. All jobs will be returned once proof of payment is received. Please feel free to call me with any questions or challenges you may be having with your blades, scissors and equipment - my mobile 0407 012 339.

23.01.2022 Always interesting to receive different implements to sharpen - like this veterinary prolapse needle and farrier's loop knives. If you have an implement and you're not sure if it can be sharpened, dont hesitate to ask. If we can't sharpen it here at Sarsfield Sharpening, there's a good chance we can suggest someone who can.

23.01.2022 Nice little hatchet to sharpen today. Not something I do often so I thought I would capture some before/after footage. I probably spent way too long tweaking this little guy but it was very satisfying! First vid is BEFORE

23.01.2022 Hello to all my wonderful and socially distant clients. I hope you are all figuring out a way to cope through this bizarre period. Just wanted to confirm that Sarsfield Sharpening is open for business as usual. The vast majority of my work is mail-in so it is easy to operate in a contact-less manner. I have also taken to spraying all deliveries with metho and leaving them sit for a couple of days before unpacking contents. If you could take extra care to clean equipment bef...ore mailing to me that would be greatly appreciated also. Lastly I have to take a couple of weeks off for health reasons from August 25th. I'll do my best to complete all jobs that arrive by the end of this week, so if you're sitting on a stash of blunt tools and dodgy clippers please pop them in the mail pronto. Jobs that arrive after this week may well be delayed until I'm back on stage around Sept 8th. Paul :)

22.01.2022 CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP CLOSURE Hi everyone I'm afraid there are only 7 weeks to go before Christmas. I will be taking a break from the workshop from Christmas Eve until January 12th. I am posting this now in the hope that it will give you time to get your summer equipment stash into me well beforehand. I hope to have the job queue cleared in time to hang some baubles on the tree Christmas Eve! Thank you all for your attention and support throughout 2019!... Paul

22.01.2022 We recently received a vintage German hunting knife that had suffered years of mistreatment. Main problem was that previous sharpener had ignored the hollow grind in the blade and tried to sharpen on some kind of flat surface thus digging into the shoulder and leading edge of blade. With some patience and careful work on a hollow grind linisher we have restored what was a pretty beaten up blade. Before and after pictures should illustrate.

22.01.2022 Hi all, a quick vid to show how a sharp clipper blade should cut, compared to a blunt blade. Sharp blades cut efforlessly without bogging down your clippers. Blunt blades drag through fur and make your clippers bog down, or "labour". Once a blade passes it's effortless cutting peak you wont get much more work out of it, but you will put significantly more strain on your clippers as the blade causes them to work harder and harder. So, when you find yourself pushing your clippers through a coat, instead of gliding, time to change blades!

22.01.2022 Always good to hear from satisfied customers! Thanks Tony

22.01.2022 Nice set of Robert Welch Signature knives sharpened and returning to their owner today!

22.01.2022 Hello to all the wonderful clients of Sarsfield Sharpening for 2020 - a quick (well.... moderate) status update to keep everyone aware where we are at. I started to install equipment in a workshop at our new/temporary house early last week only to receive another evacuation order last Friday. Repacked everything into our horse truck and relocated the truck outside the fire zone. Based on that experience I have decided the best way forward is to set the workshop up in the back... of the horse truck itself. I won't have the luxury of a large fixed workshop but there is ample space if I lay things out carefully and stick to what is necessary. The big attraction is that I will be able to drive the truck away in the event of further fire danger, no more packing/unpacking, assembling/disassembling, no more downtime. We have another 2 months fire season in front of us, the fires in East Gippsland continue to burn and are a long way from being under control. Based on this change in approach I hope to have the workshop operational within a week or so. I expect the next update will be to confirm that Sarsfield Sharpening is up and running again! In closing I would like to pass on a huge thank you for the many supportive messages and gestures I have received from so many of you. It has been truly heart-warming! Paul

21.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all and thank you for your support throughout 2017! Our little business continues to grow and we are now approaching 300 clients! We will be closed for 2 weeks from New Years eve. Looking forward to being of service to everyone during 2018!

20.01.2022 Test and Tag Update! Sarsfield Sharpening is now up and running to provide a Test and Tag service for all your grooming appliances - clippers, dryers, cord-sets, etcetera. This will save you having to send your electrical gear elsewhere to keep Test and Tag certification up-to-date. Test and Tag cert can be done at the same time that we service, or repair, your clippers and dryers and takes Sarsfield Sharpening one step closer to being a a one-stop-shop! All inspection and testing is conducted in accordance with Australian/New Zealand standard "AS/NZS 3760".

20.01.2022 The final insult for any Turkey is a blunt carving knife, so do yourself (and your Turkey) a favour and send your knives into Sarsfield Sharpening ASAP. Christmas is not far away! (I know it's not quite a Turkey in the photo but its the closest festive fowl I could find!)

20.01.2022 Just repaired and sharpened this beaten up Santoku. Came back to life quite well!

20.01.2022 Well here we are on New Years Eve and I have whittled the job queue down to 2 1/2 packages ! Looking good to be able to relax and watch some fireworks at the end of the day as planned :). As per my previous post I will be closing the workshop at the end of today for 3 weeks, reopening on Jan 21st. A huge thank you to all of you for supporting Sarsfield Sharpening throughout 2018 by entrusting your precious equipment to us for sharpening and repair. Without you I would have a workshop full of obscure machinery, but no business and, worse still, no excuse to accumulate more obscure machinery :). Wishing everyone a Happy New Year, however you choose to spend it, and looking forward to hearing from you all in 2019! Paul

19.01.2022 Missing finger insert or owner’s choice? I receive scissors with all kinds of parts missing but I don’t always know if parts have been removed by owner’s choice or natural disaster. I always keep a full range of spare parts for scissors including finger inserts, bump stops and finger rests. All shapes, styles and sizes. ... Please let me know if you want absent parts replaced when you send your scissors in

19.01.2022 We are now selling a full range of clipper blades at prices you will find hard to beat. We can supply any Oster, Shear Magic or Wahl clipper blades you need. To keep overheads down we are not carrying stock so please allow 3 or 4 days for blades to arrive in Sarsfield. Please call Paul on 0407 012 339 for enquiries and pricing!

19.01.2022 Hollowed out blade? No problem. We can restore the profile of your battered blade so you will never know it was damaged. Check out the before and after shots of this Anolon!

18.01.2022 I understand this is not the biggest job in the world but for our workshop this is the largest single package to date. Recently arriving from Esperance these 36 blades and 19 pairs of scissors. I'm glad we have groomers who like their tools as much as I like workshop equipment :)

17.01.2022 ********** THE MAC IS BACK ********** The first shipment of MAC's since pre-Covid times has just arrived! No more cut finger-tips, escaped cutters or lost glide strips, this jig holds your blades securely while you clean and oil them. ... The MAC Blade Cleaning jig is available in Australia exclusively through Sarsfield Sharpening. At $80 (+ postage) the MAC costs about the same as a single premium quality A5 blade, but will help you get the best service life out of all your blades for many years. Check out the video and order your MAC now!

17.01.2022 Our poster girl Lilo (sporting the latest #7F coif) says Merry Christmas to all! Thank you to everyone for supporting Sarsfield Sharpening throughout 2015, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!

17.01.2022 Conversation with one of our clients today made me think a reminder post would be a good thing..... so just reminding everyone that in addition to sharpening clipper-blades we also service and repair all brands and types of clippers themselves. We also service/repair all brands of Doggie hair drying machines. So doesn't matter if you use Oster, Wahl, Andis, Heiniger, Shear Magic, Double K .... whatever, remember that we can repair and service your machinery as well as your blades :)

17.01.2022 Is this what takes place behind the scenes at Sarsfield Sharpening? Not quite, but we will make your favourite knives beautifully sharp for you!

17.01.2022 Happy Australia Day to everyone! Sarsfield Sharpening is up and running again as of today! Thank you to all for your patience and understanding in the aftermath of the East Gippsland bushfires.... Please feel free to mail your sharpening/repair jobs in now. The original Sarsfield address (1602 Great Alpine Road, Vic, 3875) should be used until further notice as all mail for that address is being held at our Post Office for collection. Enjoy! Paul

16.01.2022 My stash of 5-in-1 cutters arrived from the USA so the drought is over refurbishing 5-in-1 blades !

15.01.2022 Greetings all. A bit of a strange one today, but hoping someone can help me out...... Between Christmas and New Year I lent a set of Heiniger Horse Clippers to a local (Gippsland) groomer/client. My mother always warned me not to lend things without keeping track of them, but I failed to pay attention! Just like me, I'm sure the person I lent them to has forgotten about them, but I'm hoping this post will jog someone's memory. If so it would be great to have the clippers back :) Thanks in anticipation!

15.01.2022 Received blades in the mail from our first Northern Territory client today. Just over 4000 km's from Sarsfield but the blades arrived within 2 or 3 days of dispatch. Once you take the plunge and send your equipment off in the mail it makes little difference (time wise) whether you send it 100 km's down the road or across the other side of the country. So.... join Kate from NT and mail your blades, scissors, knives, etc... into Sarsfield Sharpening now!

15.01.2022 Hello to all our faithful customers for 2019. Sarsfield Sharpening's workshop is open again from this morning. I hope you have all managed to enjoy some sort of break over Christmas and I look forward to servicing your sharpening needs throughout the year. Paul

14.01.2022 Hello to everyone in this most unusual of years. Just wanted to confirm that Sarsfield Sharpening is open for business as usual. This will remain the case unless/until the industries that we support are required to cease operating.... Paul :)

14.01.2022 Blades like oil! These 2 blades are both blunt and have come in for sharpening. The one on the left has been regularly oiled so even though it is blunt it has remained clean and silver. The blade on the right wants more oil. The brown/red "stains" are a give-away. If you're blades are showing this red/brown tinge chances are you are not oiling them frequently enough and/or not oiling in all the right places. The red/brown stains here are much more pronounced on the rear rail ...than the front (tooth) rail, so quite possibly only the front rail has been getting oiled. It is important to oil both front and rear rails, as well as the glide groove on the top side of the cutter blade. If you look at the stained areas you can even see the divots that are worn into the blades. This is the real problem with oil deprivation, the blades overheat and increased friction causes excessive wear. These divots must be completely ground away to restore the blade to sharpness, which means removing more metal and therefore shortening the life of the blade. The last photo is the same comb blade freshly sharpened just to show a newly ground blade with zero wear. In order to maximise service-life blades should be cleaned and oiled frequently. See more

14.01.2022 More and more people are making use of our Drop-Off point at the Bairnsdale Horse Centre, which is great to see. Mostly people let me know when they are going to drop their blades and equipment in, but sometimes not. If you would like your blades and equipment returned as promptly as possible please do let me know (text, call, pm, whatever method is convenient) so that I know to call in at the Horse Centre for collection.

13.01.2022 Hi All, just reminder that Sarsfield Sharpening is more than just a sharpening service. We sell, service and repair most major brands of clippers and blades at very competitive prices. Contact Paul directly for pricing.

13.01.2022 Not often do we get such a large batch of knives from one client! Thanks very much to the Chef's School at Bairnsdale and Fulham Federation Training for entrusting their tools of trade to Sarsfield Sharpening! Bairnsdale batch was even larger but they were returned before I thought to photograph them.

13.01.2022 No, we don't do tattoos at Sarsfield Sharpening, but you get the idea......

12.01.2022 WAHL #5 and #10W (wide) blades for sale. One of our clients purchased these blades only to discover they did not what he hoped for. The client asked if we could offer the blades for sale on Facebook, so here they are! I have tested both blades and can confirm that the blades have done almost zero work and still cut very well. They are available for $25 each. Please contact us here if you are interested in either/both blade/s.

12.01.2022 ********* THE MAC IS BACK ********* Supply of MAC's has been patchy due to impact of Covid on the supply chain, however a new shipment recently arrived, so for now I have plenty available! 12.01.2022 Nothing as dramatic as the toilet paper shortage but another one of the casualties of Corona virus is the zip-lock bags I usually package sharpened blades with. The alternative I have come up with is Wax Paper which is still available and is probably better for blades and for the environment anyway. Just thought I would explain before I start returning blades this way :)

12.01.2022 Hello all, I'm officially out of Wahl 5-in-1 cutters now. Waiting on one shipment direct from USA and also on Wahl Australia receiving their shipment from Germany. Unfortunately no ETA available on either. Until one supply turns up I will separate out 5-in-1 blades from jobs, return everything else, and hold the 5-in-1's over for later return. Fingers crossed something arrives soon!

12.01.2022 Good morning all, just a quick update to keep you aware of where/what we are up to at Sarsfield Sharpening. There are no Wahl 5-in-1 cutters available in Australia at the moment. Wahl Australia have them on back order and cannot provide an ETA for arrival. I have therefore ordered a batch directly from the USA which I hope to have within 2-3 weeks. I will keep you posted. Until then I have just enough cutters left to process jobs currently in the shop, but new arrivals may be... delayed, or I may separate out the 5-in-1 blades and return separately. Supply of Double-K parts has long been patchy in Australia but now that Clipper World is no longer the exclusive distributor I am hopeful that availablity will improve. Looks like there will be several distributors, including Oz Grooming World and Pupkus and I believe they are in the process of initial stocking-up at the moment. As far as the job queue goes I am currently processing jobs received on October 15th so I am just managing to track to 2 weeks in the workshop. I will do my best to maintain this now that things have settled somewhat and I thank everyone for their patience and positive feedback to date :) See more

12.01.2022 Hello to everyone. I hope you are all surviving the Covid challenge. I just wanted to recommend that you use EXPRESS mail when sending equipment to me for the time being. I have always returned packages (except dryers) by Express, even though I only charge for regular postage (just a token of appreciation for the loyalty of my many wonderful customers). Australia Post is completely snowed under of late and I believe Covid-safe handling practices are making the backlog worse. From what I see Express mail is still being treated with priority over Regular - although both are seriously impacted. In fact Express is currently taking roughly as long as Regular mail does in normal times. I will let everyone know when delivery times seem to have returned to normal - whenever that may be!

11.01.2022 CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP CLOSURE Hi everyone, only 4 weeks to go before Christmas! I will be taking a break from the workshop for 3 weeks from Christmas Eve (until January 14th). I am posting this now in the hope that it will give you time to get your summer equipment stash into me well beforehand. I hope to have the job queue cleared in time to hang some baubles on the tree Christmas Eve! Thank you to all my wonderful customers for your support and understanding throughout this most peculiar year of 2020!

10.01.2022 Before footage of a nice Spanish Hunter. Well looked after so nothing "wrong" before, just in need of having a nice crisp bevel recreated with a keen edge. Ready for action again now.

09.01.2022 To get the best performance and life out of your blades they need to be correctly positioned and aligned on your clippers. Correctly positioned means the teeth of the top blade (cutter) should be set about 1.5 - 2.0 mm back from the teeth of the lower blade (comb). There is a bit of wiggle room here but whatever you do, don't have the teeth of the cutter protruding in front of the comb. If you do it is very easy to cut your horse or yourself - plus the blades will not cut well at all! We often see blades that are poorly installed so here are a few photos that show what is good and what is bad. Check out the individual photos for relevant comments. Hope this helps someone. Happy installing!

09.01.2022 So here is a slightly different post...... hoping someone can help me. Yesterday Sarsfield Sharpening received a $75 payment directly to the business bank account from "Peter O'Connell". Based on this amount I expect this is the payment for a MAC Blade Maintenance Jig. Only problem is there is no Invoice Number specified and I don't have any record of sale to this name. I'm guessing that Peter O'Connell has paid on behalf of someone else. Can anyone help me identify Peter O'Connell? TIA

09.01.2022 Sweet little "Grandma's Glovebox" knife. Ready to give any apple or orange a run for it's money again!

08.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder that we sell the full range of Oster and Shear Magic clipper blades. There are too many sizes to list here but here is an indication for a few of the most popular sizes. Shear Magic #10 $34.50 Shear Magic #7 $40.50... Oster #10 $44 Oster #7 $47 Oster 83/84AU (Horse Blade) $60 This should give you an idea of our pricing. For other sizes please contact Paul for details. If you can find better prices for the same new stock elsewhere we will match them. (All prices exclude shipping at standard Australia Post rates. We do place any mark-up on shipping).

08.01.2022 Yes we do sharpen nail clippers !

07.01.2022 As 2019 closes I regret to confirm that my wife and I lost our property last night in the bushfires of East Gippsland. This included the plantation and infrastructure of Sarsfield Wildflower Farm and the workshop of Sarsfield Sharpening, as well as our two houses and other farm buildings, vehicles and equipment. Many other houses in Sarsfield were destroyed as were many more in the nearby townships of WIseleigh and Bruthen, so our grief and loss is shared with other local fam...ilies and friends. The main fires had been burning for nearly 5 weeks and we were all aware of the increased danger over this 3 day weekend, with wind and heat conditions conspiring against us. On the strength of this we evacuated all our horses and pets beforehand and I am very grateful that this left our property completely animal/pet-free. I also took the precaution of extracting all the necessary sharpening machinery, equipment and supplies to enable me to reestablish a workshop elsewhere and thereby guarantee business continuity for Sarsfield Sharpening. I also extracted all outstanding client jobs so I can confirm that none of my valued clients have lost any of their precious equipment. Once my wife and I figure out where we are going to live (at least initially) I expect Sarsfield Sharpening will have a new postal address so I ask for your patience and to take care to use the new mail-in address once I announce it. As many of you will know I had already closed the workshop on Christmas Eve and planned to reopen on January 12th. I hope that this change in circumstance will not delay reopening by more than a few days. Thanks you to all of my fabulous and loyal clients for your support throughout 2019, and I hope you will entrust Sarsfield Sharpening with all your sharpening/repair needs throughout 2020! Paul See more

07.01.2022 Horse Clipping Season is upon us again! We have plenty of new blades in stock at competitive prices if your old blades are beyond sharpening. Remember that all major brand Horse Blades are interchangeable except for Lister, so the Oster blades we keep in stock will suit Heiniger, Shear Magic, Sunbeam and Oster clippers (and others). As long as your existing blades are not too rusty they can be sharpened a good number of times. Rust is the #1 enemy so it's a great idea to oil... your blunt blades well when you finish using them. Most of the damage I see is caused by rust on blunt blades that have been sitting waiting for sharpening for months. One thing we can't do is replace broken teeth so please be conscious of the risk of using blades with missing/broken teeth. If you have teeth missing from your combs then you have cutter teeth zipping from side to side unprotected with the potential of slicing your precious pony. This is especially the case if teeth are missing from the outside edges of the comb, rather than somewhere in the middle.

07.01.2022 A selection of the garden tools we sharpen here at Sarsfield Sharpening. Some people don't think these tools can be effectively resharpened, or don't know where to take them. Well..... bring them to us! Generally these tools are automatically sharpened in high-volume at the factory without attention to individual tools. When they are re-sharpened by hand with individual attention results are often better than "from the factory". So.... don't replace blunt garden tools with new ones or just plug away with blunt tools - Send them to Sarsfield Sharpening!

07.01.2022 Test and Tag Update! I have recently completed the training to enable Sarsfield Sharpening to offer a Test and Tag service for clippers, dryers, cord-sets, etcetera. This will save you having to send your electrical items elsewhere to keep their Test and Tag certification up-to- date. Test and Tag cert can be done at the same time that we service, or repair, your clippers and dryers and takes Sarsfield Sharpening one step closer to being a a one-stop-shop! We are in process of evaluating and purchasing the most appropriate testing device for our/your needs at the moment so will be soon be up and running.

07.01.2022 Greetings to everyone in these extraordinary times. 2020 just keeps getting weirder by the month. Sarsfield Sharpening is still up and running and I still have MAC Blade Jigs ready to ship and to make a groomer's life a little easier! ******************************************* No more cutters or glide strips disappearing onto the floor. No more nicked fingertips. Holds your blades securely while you clean and oil them.... Available in Australia excusively from Sarsfield Sharpening. If you haven't ordered yours already PM your mailing address and phone/email details to Sarsfield Sharpening and we will send you out an invoice. The cost of the MAC Blade Maintenance Jig is $65 (+$10 postage/handling anywhere in Australia).

06.01.2022 Repairing broken tips.... no problem. But what happens when it's a folder and the reshaped tip is going to poke out even with the knife closed? Not a great thing to be fishing for in your pocket! I thought this one was past it, but by relieving the bump-stop we were able to get the reshaped tip to just sneak inside the body of the knife safely. Back into action!

06.01.2022 Our second shipment of MAC Blade Maintenance Jigs is well on the way to finding homes with happy new owners, but we still have stock left. If you haven't ordered yours already PM your mailing address and phone/email details to Sarsfield Sharpening and we will send you out an invoice. The cost of the MAC Blade Maintenance Jig is $65 (+$10 postage/handling anywhere in Australia).

05.01.2022 Hi all, back from holidays officially as of today and looking forward to helping with everyone's sharpening needs throughout 2018!

05.01.2022 I am Pippa and I reckon I would make a much better poster girl than Lilo! Look how much trouble I have gone to! Send in your votes for 2016! Oh, and Merry Christmas to all from me also!

05.01.2022 Good afternoon and a pre-emptive Merry Christmas to all our valued clients. Business has been crazy since our mutual friend and sharpening guru Christopher retired. My apologies that turn-around time has extended as a result. I hope to have our processes streamlined as much as possible by the New Year having adjusted to the new work flow. It has been a bit of a "baptism of fire" but we really appreciate your support and patience. The reality is that Sarsfield Sharpening is ...never going to promote business on the basis of "rapid turn-around", free steak knives, etc.... Our focus has always been on quality, rather than speed and that is where my interest remains. Whether a pair of scissors takes 5 minutes or 1 hour to restore to peak condition, that is how long we will spend on them. Such are the swings and roundabouts of the sharpening game :) We will be taking a break for 3 weeks from New Year's Eve, reopening the workshop on January 20th. My plan is to clear the work queue prior to NYE so if you have equipment in need of sharpening or repair please send it in to us during the next week.

05.01.2022 Broken knife tip? No problem! We can reshape/re-tip you favourite blade so you will forget it was ever damaged. No more weeping and regret. Lots of happy slicing and carving!

04.01.2022 Sarsfield Sharpening has been invited to sponsor and operate on-site at the upcoming 4-day Dog Shows to be held at Lindenow South Recreation Reserve from August 30th through September 2nd. There are actually 6 shows on the program organised by the "Bairnsdale and District Kennel Club Inc." and the "East Gippsland Kennel Club Inc.". The plan is to operate from the back of my ute under a gazebo with generator power. This will be our first "mobile" gig, so let's see how we go!

04.01.2022 This little guy just turned up at my workshop door asking for his nail clippers!

04.01.2022 My trusty assistant "Lilo" accepting her fate on my Mazda BT50 mobile grooming table. In case anyone is wondering.... yes, she is alive.

03.01.2022 Thanks to all our clients who leave blades, clippers, scissors, etc at the Bairnsdale Horse Centre for us to collect. So that we can return your items as quickly as possible please feel free to send me a text msg (0407 012 339) when you have dropped items in. Also, of course, many thanks to Carlee Knight and her staff for providing this drop-off/collection facility for us!

03.01.2022 PURPLE is the new Pink ! I have just taken delivery of this supply of PURPLE glide-strips manufactured exclusively for Sarsfield Sharpening. Many of you will be familiar with the Pink glide-strips that I have been using for some years; well time has come to introduce a bold new colour to distinguish your blades. As glide-strips wear out we replace them (free of charge) during the sharpening process, so over time all your blades should receive the Purple facelift!

03.01.2022 Nice selection of "well loved" vintage Sabatier knives came in for a make-over. Here are some before photos and after video !

02.01.2022 So when your sharpener tells you that those magic pull-through sharpening devices are bad for your knives ..... now you can see why! These are before after clips of knife that has been "sharpened" with the pull-through device that was recommended when the knives were purchased :( Whoops, the 2 vids came up separate to this post but hopefully you can piece the puzzle together from the comments on the vid clips.

02.01.2022 The weird things you find yourself buying in this sharpening game! What do we have here? 100 snow white bunny pelts. We use these for test-cutting clipper blades as the final step of the sharpening process. Rabbit fur is about the finest readily available fur around so it is a great testing medium. If a blade will cut rabbit fur it will certainly cut dog, cat, human or horse hair/fur. The crazy thing is we live in the middle of a paddock populated by rabbits yet I have to import these from USA, and when I look at the import doco I see they are actually Spanish bunnies.

02.01.2022 First single-sided Japanese knife we have been sent to bring back to life. Very different to working on conventional double-sided knives since only one side is sharpened. The other side is just honed flat like the inside of hairstylist scissors. Wickedly sharp at 19 degrees, which means roughly twice as sharp an edge as a double-sided knife. Thanks for the challenge John Lethlean!

Once you have decided to use Australia Post it really makes very little difference to overall turn-around whether you are posting to the next town or interstate so welcome to all those clients from interstate and please keep mailing in your blades and scissors!
