23.01.2022 I was lucky enough to spend the day at GTM Brahmans looking over some of the beautiful stock they have there. Lovely knowledgeable people with some of the best quality bred Brahmans I’ve seen. It’s even better when we got to purchase our own GTM Brahman.

09.01.2022 As somebody who has worked with horses all my life, competed horses in the top classes internationally including on the Swedish team, and bred horses that have ...been successful in World Cup, Olympic Games and Nations Cup, and myself educated horses from the start to the top, it is sad to see how many of the old experienced horse people that are no longer there. There is a lot of new people that are coming forwards but have not got the experienced teachers to guide them that people like me had the fortune to learn from. For that reason I am sad to see that a lot of practices that will keep a horse sound and fresh for years to come, are no longer in use, but instead it has become more interesting to get a horse under saddle, educated so it can go to shows long before it should, just to make more money a lot quicker. Without concern for the horses, and the fact that doing everything too quickly will not keep those horses sound into their best years. There is also a trend that young horses, too young to be ridden, are loose-jumped with a lot of external help just in order to be sold for more money, and in most of these cases these horses will never jump the same again. For people like me who work with horses because we love it, who want the horses to get a fair chance to reach the top of their potential with their body and mind as strong as possible, this is not acceptable. If we sell a horse, we want the buyer to know that that horse will only get better as time goes by, that if they love their horse and look after it with consideration, that horse has a good chance to be something special. As we love the work we do, a happy customer is the best advertisement we can get, they will recommend you to other people and come back later for another horse, when that time comes. I hope there will be more people thinking like we do, or there is going to be a lot of young horses that will be burnt out long before they reach their potential. For the love of the horse. 08.01.2022 Cass and Sars, got to love the solid bays.

08.01.2022 A Good Mare There’s something different about the way a good mare connects with her rider. It’s special. Like an unspoken agreement. Once a mare chooses yo...u as her person, it’s like she has an instinct to protect you, to fight for you. It’s almost as if she takes ownership of you. I believe the good mares have a deep sense of intuition. They can read your mind. They know what you’re thinking even before you do. The good mares I know breathe fire in the face of challenge and then somehow, miraculously, know to quiet themselves when a timid child is plopped on their back for a pony ride. They are clever, cunning and calculated, which can be your greatest enemy or your saving grace. The good mares I know do not tolerate egotistical riding. They do not tolerate force. They demand tact, finesse and emotional control. But once you have won a mare’s heart, you have won all of her. In exchange for your bestand nothing lessshe will give you everything.
