21.01.2022 One hundred and five SARVRA members recently gathered at the Flinders Street Baptist Church Adelaide for the half yearly meeting of members. President Bob Ainsworth spoke with members about the SARVRA submission to the Joint House Parliamentary Committee on Council Rates, what was happening in the industry, plus some major and proposed Amendments to the NSW Retirement Villages Act. Lisa Bellchambers and Kimberley Lord from AnglicareCareSA addressed the members about the avail...ability of, and how to access Commonwealth funding to assist older South Australians to live independently and well, in their own environment. Our second speaker Vanessa Clarke from the Office of the Ageing (OFTA) provide a progress report from an industry perspective following the introduction of the new Act which commenced on the 1st of January 2018. Vanessa also informed attendees that OFTA has changed its name to the Office of Ageing Well. See more

Venue: The Baptist Church 65 Flinders Street Adelaide (follow signage at Mead Hall). Time: Meeting Commences at 10.30am for a 12.30pm completion (tea and coffee from 10.00 am). Parking: Divett Place Car Park. Guest Speakers: (a) Jane Musserad the Chief Executive Office SA of the Council of the Ageing who will provide an update on COTA’s and expanded range of activities. (b) Scott McVeay from Concessions SA who will speak with members about their eligibility for a State Government concession. There will be plenty of time for questions.
