25.01.2022 In memoriam: Peter J. Collins Our long serving member of 40 years and former Operations Captain Peter James Collins sadly passed away peacefully on the 5th of June. For his dedication of services to the squadron, one of our rescue crafts based out of Lonsdale is name after him. Peter was also awarded the life membership of the squadron. Peter continued to serve the squadron until the last days. Condolences to the bereaved family. Rest in Peace Peter

04.01.2022 Congratulations to the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard on the official commissioning of their new vessel Vincent Star at Port Vincent, SA. SA Sea Rescue Squadron Commodore Frank Miller and his wife represented the Squadron at the official ceremony at Port Vincent. The other invitees from the Squadron included Edithburgh Flotilla leader Brian Klingberg and his wife and Copper Coast Flotilla leader Peter Sims and his wife. The Edithburgh Flotilla and AVCG Port Vincent work closely together in providing rescue services on the eastern coast of Yorke Peninsula. #sasearescuesquadron #sasearescue #sasrs

02.01.2022 A proud moment for the squadron especially our Wirrina flotilla SR-05 PAUL BROWN BEGINS BUILD & FITOUT The SA Sea Rescue Squadron is pleased to announce that it will soon add a new rescue boat to its fleet with the SR-05 Paul Brown that has begun its build and fitout. The boat is the Nautic Star replacement for our Clayton Gallant, Sea Rescue 05. The Squadron Executive approved the request to name the new boat after Paul Brown, the founder of our Wirrina flotilla, and who served as its leader for eight years and later as chairman for seven years. 02.01.2022 Perfect weather over the long weekend for local boaties resulted in six assists recorded in Adelaide for breakdowns ranging from flat batteries to fuel problems. Thanks to all the crews who gave up their long weekend to man the boats and radio rooms in Adelaide, Copper Coast, Edithburgh and Wirrina. Well done team.
