24.01.2022 Tonight crews responded to a tree down with power lines involved. SA Power Networks were called to ensure the power lines were safe for our crews to work around. With the help of Woodside CFS, crews quickly removed the tree branch. If you come across any power lines down that pose a safety call 000 and stay at least 10 meters away from the area.

05.01.2022 Triple Zero (000) callers will now be able to easily tell operators their location during an emergency. The Emergency+ app was relaunched today with what3words... functionality. This will allow callers to Triple Zero (000) to use three key words to help communicate their location in areas or situations where this may be difficult. South Australia Police are already using what3words to assist members of the public. On 6 October police received a call from campers who had been bogged in the Chadinga Conservation Park near Ceduna, a 118.5km2 area. By using what3words, police were able to locate and assist the campers by sending a mechanic to them. The Emergency+ app is free and available on iOS and Android devices through the Google Play and Apple stores.

04.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for wearing orange and saying #thankyouses to our wonderful SES volunteers! It’s been amazing seeing all the different ways everyone has c...elebrated today. Bright orange shirts, crazy wigs, orange cupcakes, decorations on windows, and so much morewe’re blown away. Across the SES, we celebrated WOW Day by making sure we all wore our finest orange in our digital meetings (even getting creative with orange backgrounds) and putting up orange SES decorations. Parts of the state will light up in orange tonight, including the River Torrens footbridge, Viterra silos, Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Festival Theatre, and more to show thanks to our volunteers. Again, we thank you for your support today and your ongoing support throughout the year.

02.01.2022 Crews have been busy attending to a few trees last night and early hours of this morning, as well as a large flooding job this afternoon. Crews worked alongside Meadows Country Fire Service and Strathalbyn State Emergency Service to help residents with localised flooding. We were able to locate our sandbag trailer to Meadows CFS to assist with sandbag operations. Great work by all involved!
