Comfort food at its best with all the guesswork taken out thanks to Sashi's Secret meal kits. The chilli in the kit is optional, which I love, so this curry is great for the whole family. And who can say no to chunks of juicy slow-cooked gravy beef, served in a traditional Rendang sauce over rice with steamed green beans. The ho...use smells so good and our tummies are filled and happy. Available from Woolworths." SLOW-COOKED BEEF RENDANG CURRY You can follow the recipe on the packet and make it with beef strips, cooking it in just 20 minutes, but I quite like the slow cooked version. Serves 4 Prep 5 mins Cook 4 hours INGREDIENTS 1 packet Sashi's Secret Beef Rendang Curry Kit 2 tbsp olive or coconut oil 500g diced beef water 1 large carrot, peeled and sliced finely 200g green beans, trimmed 1 family-size pouch basmati rice GARNISH Fresh coriander or parsley leaves METHOD Remove ingredient sachets from the packet. Place a large saucepan over medium heat and toast coconut until golden. Transfer to a plate. Heat oil in the same pan. Add diced beef and cook for 5 minutes to brown. Add back the coconut and curry paste. Stir to coat well and heat through. Add kaffir lime leaves and chilli (optional). Pour in the coconut milk and about 2 cups of water. Stir and bring to the boil. Lower heat to a gentle simmer and cook for 4 hours on low simmer. Stir every so often and add water as needed. In the last half an hour add sliced carrot and stir. Steam beans and rice. Serve with rice, steamed beans and coriander or parsley.

06.01.2022 We love Wholesome Cook with Martyna Angell's take on Laksa using our Curry Laksa Home Chef Kit. Tapping into Asian Street Food influence, Martyna calls this recipe ‘Laksa Curry with the Lot’ check out her delicious recipe below INGREDIENTS 1 packet Sashi's Secret Curry Laksa Kit water... 2-4 eggs 2 tbsp oil 1 cup roasted shredded chicken (fresh or frozen) 12 prawns (fresh, frozen or cooked) 100g baby spinach 2 bok choy, quartered 100g firm tofu or 8 tofu puffs, sliced GARNISH Fresh coriander or parsley leaves METHOD Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add noodles from the kit and cook for 4 mins. Drain over a bowl and, if using boiled eggs, return the water to the saucepan add eggs and cook for 5 minutes. Otherwise, fry eggs in a large frying pan and set aside. In another medium saucepan heat oil over medium heat and add curry paste from the kit. Cook for 1 min. Add the prawns and chicken, stir and cook for 2 mins. Add bok choy, stir and pour in the coconut milk from the kit. Bring to the boil, add baby spinach and tofu, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes. Divide noodles between 2-4 serving bowls. Peel and quarter boiled eggs. Top noodles with the laksa soup and egg. Garnish with coriander and fried shallot from the kit.
