If you have ever wondered just how immaculate the sound is at S*A*S*H By Day, this man has likely had a hand in your enjoyment! Name? Michael (Howard) Berger. I was almost Howard Michael. Can you believe that?! ... Age? 36 (most likely) Position? Reverse Cow girl Oh, position at SASH: Sound Technician, Audiotech, Soundie, How long have you worked for S.A.S.H? Over 4 years I reckon? Labour of love. How did you come to be involved/work at S*A*S*H? Friends of friends of friends of friends. My background in Live Sound paved the way. When was your first S.A.S.H party you ever went to? Thats a tough one. I cant recall a date, but I can remember the feeling of walking into the lair the first time when the room was heaving, the giant horse suspended/ rotating above the crowd, and whoever was on deck was dishing up something delightful. Favourite S*A*S*H party/memory and why? Too many to remember. From long weekends to birthdays parties... any reason to celebrate. And, The office parties were something else. Its hard to choose just one but theres nothing quite like being in Terrace booth and seeing the room pulse, front on. What is your best worst joke? A young couple are out shopping for a dress the girlfriend will wear to a dance they are attending later that evening. She finds one she likes and her boyfriend stands in a long waiting to purchase the dress. She decides she also wants a corsage to go with the dress. So the boyfriend waits in another long line to purchase the corsage. She tells her boyfriend that it would be nice to take a limousine to the dance. Once again he waits in a long line, to rent a limo. They arrive at the venue and both wait in a long line before being allowed in. Finally, they are on the dance floor having a good time, when the girlfriend says she wants a glass of punch. There is no punch line. Any lockdown tips? Exercise physically and mentally. When you are down, dont be afraid to reach out to a mate and likewise, check on you friends and family from time to time. We are all in this together. Look after each other. How do you think the first party back at S.A.S.H with no restrictions will be like & thoughts on how many days off youll need after it? 3 minimum. My recovery time aint what it used to be. What does S*A*S*H mean to you? A safe place where strangers become friends. Friends become family all for the love of music.
