24.01.2022 2020 race 2. Heat 1 times.

23.01.2022 Hi Everyone, With Covid-19 restrictions slowly lifting the SASDC will be moving towards hosting a few events. The dates we are currently looking at are the 1st/2nd of August (Previously race 4) and the 29th/30th of August (Previously race 5).... The committee is in the process of developing a Covid Safe plan which then needs to cleared by Forestry SA Before we can book events so at this stage nothing is 100% Certain. We will also look to hold a few Weightpulls before the end of the year, The first on the 19th of September and the second on the 27th of September. We will continue to keep everyone updated as soon as more information comes available. Regards, SASDC Committee

20.01.2022 Hi Everyone, With the ever evolving situation around Covid-19, The SASDC Committee has made the decision to cancel all events until deemed safe to resume as normal with no risk to our participants. We will continue to monitor the situation and prepare for events, However at this time we don't believe it is safe for any events to proceed. If you have any questions regarding our decision feel free to contact us via email or DM. Stay safe and hopefully we can get back on the trails as soon as possible. Regards SASDC Committee

15.01.2022 The weight pull season is fast approaching We are pleased to have ABT and Petzest sponsoring our events once again. We are now seeing if anyone would be able to help with sponsoring one of our four weight classes for the season.... Your sponsorship helps us cover the cost of ribbons, so your business/team name will go on those. Also, we can display signage if provided and put your logo onto our event flyers. The cost of sponsorship would be $90 per class. Ideally, we will have these finalized within the next week, to give the ribbons plenty of time to arrive. Please contact the club or weight pull coordinator Ashleigh Kay [email protected] for further information.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, A big thanks to the sponsors who have stepped up for weightpull. Well do a proper introduction soon. We are still looking for a sponsor for the <27kg class. Please message the club [email protected] or pm weightpull coordinator Ashleigh Kay if youd like to support our sport. Thank you

04.01.2022 Hi everyone! EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! Would you be interested in participating in an online event like this? Let us know so we can start making preparations! The ...Siberian Husky Club of Victoria is *hoping* to facilitate a virtual stage race since many of this seasons events are cancelled due to the restrictions imposed as a result of Covid-19. Whether or not this will be feasible will be based on what the updated restrictions look like on May 11th and whether we will be able to run our dogs in a non-race setting. We will make an announcement after this date. This will be modeled off of the North American based Iron Paws and the bones of this project looks something like this: 1- There is a class for EVERYONE all you need is a proper harness and line. Competitive Canicross *Mostly runs Recreational Canicross *Mostly walks 1 Dog Bikejor 2 Dog Bikejor 1 Dog Dryland 2 Dog Dryland 4 Dog Dryland 6 Dog Unlimited (any team running more than 6 dogs) 1 Dog Skijor 2 Dog Skijor 2 Dog Sled 4 Dog Sled 2- Any breed of dog can enter from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand. 3- There will be an entry fee in the neighbourhood of $20-25 4- There will be a finishers medal for every participant. Finisher will have a definition attached to it. This will be the only tangible award offered. Think social sledding. The real reward is the time spent and memories made with your dogs. 5- Will rely on the honor system. Play fair and be honest. 6- Scoring will be based on miles, participating in virtual competitions, and engaging in activities with other participants in line with social distancing guidelines. 7- There will be in the neighbourhood of 8 stages/weeks 8- SHCV will manages points only. Run your teams at your own risk. Mush responsibly with the best interest of your dogs in mind. See more
