19.01.2022 EARLY CAREER TEACHERS CONFERENCE | Have you seen the program? https://bit.ly/ECTC2020 In Kate's session 'Lets Really Do Science Inquiry (Primary)' she will be talking about not rescuing students from thinking, which means standing back and giving them time and opportunity to solve problems themselves. And poses the question: Do we trap our students into fast thinking through our questioning? Fast thinking means they can’t stop and think, it fails in complex systems such as s...cience investigation. Slow thinking allows for deep observation and problem solving thinking like a scientist. Due to the new Government restrictions imposed in South Australia we are no longer able to run this event safely and the University of South Australia has cancelled all public events on campus until further notice.
