24.01.2022 Epic long days smashing through jobs to complete for Xmas. Just wrapped up the last one for the day.

24.01.2022 Full system audit on this beauty saw the installation a new touchpad controller and some simplified program settings. Pool automation can be as simple as a touchpad controller or operation via an app on your phone.

21.01.2022 Probably the best looking spiggots and grab rail on the Gold Coast. Matte black is definately on my favourites list.

21.01.2022 Quick check of the aquarium tonight and full credit to the owner for the aquascape and maintenance. Time disappears when you're staring at this tank.

15.01.2022 Only one pool cleaner that can sort the most leafy pools. PLS let me know if you want to hear more about the "Jet Vac" and how it can be retro fitted to your pool.

14.01.2022 When you renovate a pool it's a no brainer that you want it to look spectacular. Everybody says "I really just want a Blue Pool!" The problem is the day the peb...blecrete team turn up 9 out of 10 people have a panic attack and say "I just want it to be as blue as possible can you please put heaps of blue into it!" Nearly 100% of the time out of those 9 out of 10 occasions where this panic attack occurs I hate to say it but it's the wife overruling all to demand a blue pool. Adding blue to a pool pebble rennovation unfortunately only makes the pool look blue when the sun isn't shining on it. Unfortunately it also has an adverse effect on your pool lighting as light refracts better from a light coloured surface. The following swimming pool has no blue in it whatsoever. It is white pebblecrete with a hint of black pebble and glass beads for an incredible effect. What you do end up with essentially is an Arctic blue look which is the most inviting of all swimming pool colours you could ever imagine. It is very hard to accept that a white pebbled pool will give you such a brilliant blue effect and trust me the pictures do it no justice. The night time pool lighting effect is enhanced and simply incredible in comparison. This pool was completed by Greg Burton from Pool Surf. The following picture is not even in full sunlight so you can imagine what the effect will be if it wasn't shaded. See more

13.01.2022 Installing a water meter on a pool auto top up system is a no brainer. Especially if you have an infinity edge pool. You don't know your pool is leaking until y...ou get your water bill or find out you need 200kg of salt when you get your water tested. This water meter was installed on a pond in Runway Bay that isn't exposed to high wind and has cartridge filters so no water loss from backwashing. The meter was installed 10 weeks ago and the surface area of the pond is 45m2. See more

10.01.2022 The little flappy door on your skimmer box is so crucial to a pool. We all removed them years ago so that you could plug your conventional automatic pool cleane...r into the skimmer box. If you have converted to a robot or simply want to remove your pool cleaner out of the pool you're crazy not to have a weir door installed on your skimmer box. The weir door has a float on the back side that forces the door to sit very high just below the water surface. When the pump runs the water entering the skimmer box increases it's surface velocity creating a surface vacuum that just sucks in all of the debris on the surface of the pool. It's amazing how much more clean your pool will be by re-installing your Weir door. The first video is without a weir door and the second video is with a weir door installed.

08.01.2022 Cool installation completed on a spa and a pool in Sanctuary Cove. Two separate bodies of water both run autonomously from one pump, filter, chlorinator and heat pump. Electric control valves actuate between the two suction and return lines allowing both pool and spa to be run and filtered without the need to buy another full set of equipment. There is a thermostat sensor that allows the system to hear the spa to a higher temp than the pool. All of this made possible by the Astral Connect 10 control system.

08.01.2022 Called in to get some glamour shots of a recently completed retrofit of pool lights and laminar jets to a wet edge pool on Sovereign Islands last night. Beautiful spa electrics lights combined with Zodiac laminars make one of the most elegant features I have built to date.

05.01.2022 Satisfying outcome on this spa in Sanctuary Cove. This spa was constructed next to an existing pool. Connected by a static fill line that will ensure the spa an...d pool water level remain the same. Automation system nearly complete which will see both spa and pool operate autonomously at different temperatures if required by a single pump, filter, chlorinator and heater setup. This will be the most energy efficient setup I have seen utilising the latest Inverter heat pump from Evo Heat. See more

04.01.2022 Simple tricks for easy pool maintenance.

03.01.2022 Love the EvoHeat heaters. This three phase unit will heat a good size pool. Coupled up with a 3 phase solar electricity supply there is still power flowing into the grid. Standard with a full stainless case they are awesome to install anywhere.

03.01.2022 Summer came early this yr and here are a cpl of pool maintenance tips. Unheated pools have just reached my magic number of 28 degrees. Chlorine demand or consu...mption at this time becomes exponential. Now is the time to ensure your time clock is running 8hrs a day. "providing your chlorinator is sized correctly" When water temps exceed 30 it may be necessary to increase run times to 10hrs a day. Now at these time durations you will naturally be producing chlorine for longer therefore your pH will start to increase. For the average 50,000L salt pool make sure U r adding an average of 250ml of pool acid each week to keep pH down and maintain active chlorine. If your pH is high your pool will look dull, your eyes will burn and you will notice a pong on your skin and bathers when U get out. Pool covers suck and make pools temperamental. Jump on YouTube and have a look at the liquid solar pool cover. It has been around for ages but shows a great demonstration of how the liquid pool cover can retain heat but more importantly for us prevent evaporation. It's available at most pool shops and if they don't have it they will be able to get it. You don't notice it, you can't smell it and it actually prevents evaporation and saves drastically on water use. In the past I've used these in summer for evaporation prevention and in winter for heat retention. The current evaporation rates on waterfront swimming pools exposed to coastal breeze is upwards of 50 mm a week and dry blocks are experiencing up to 25 mm a week possibly more if they're exposed to high wind. If you are considering using canal water to top up your pool forget about it. You cannot control the salinity intake when using canal water. Only the fresh water evaporates from your pool so if you use canal water you will be increasing your salt level to a point where it may cause or will cause damage to your salt chlorinator. salt chlorinators don't like to run on incredibly high salinity that is required in the ocean.

02.01.2022 Started mowing lawns this week.
