23.01.2022 Did you know the technical interview for all builders conditions is now held over Zoom? This means you can do it from the comfort of your home! Or maybe the office might be a better option... Speak to Sam from SA Trade Licensing to get all the info, [email protected]

19.01.2022 Current Pass/Fail Rates for the SA Builders Technical Interview - see my stats below based on client/government/enquiry feedback: 1) New Build Residential interview - 80% fail rate 2) Renovations/Alterations/Structural - 65% fail rate 3) Restricted work e.g. retaining walls, gyprocking - 40% fail rate... People (generally) aren't failing because they don't know how to do the work, they're failing because they don't know the minimum Code/Standard requirements. FYI, the minimums are less obvious than you think... SA Trade Licensing has this information extracted, highlighted and ready to study plus we'll only provide realistic advice to increase your chances of passing!

19.01.2022 Want to hear Sam from SA Trade Licensing talk for 50 minutes? Probably not. 17.01.2022 General building contractors and QBE Builders Warranty Insurance Since 1 October 2020, QBE & Contractors go hand-in-hand for new applicants or any upgrades/changes! Don't think you'll automatically qualify for the insurance - it usually takes 4 weeks plus a lot of back-and-forth with QBE. Speak to Weber Insurance via the link below for assistance: https://www.webberinsurance.com.au/building-indemnity-insur

17.01.2022 How many years experience do I need to apply for a renovation or new build residential licence? Good question - it's not a question of how many years because anyone could say they've been a builder for 10 years, but only helped in actually building 2 homes start to finish... CBS wants to know how many jobs you've personally been involved in start to finish. If you've done more than 4 separate jobs - you have a good chance!... SA Trade Licensing will provide realistic advice based on your experience plus provide you the work history templates the interviewer is looking for!

15.01.2022 Do you get tested on plumbing/electrical in the interview? Short answer is no. But you need to know about CoC's, what they're used for and who gets copies! Sam from SA Trade Licensing has this info and everything else you need to know for any general builder technical interview!

15.01.2022 Important Update for all builders! New licence conditions available in the coming months. CBS will be releasing new builders conditions which from what I hear, will give residential builders more options in the renovators space. I'll have more info in the coming months and will let everyone know once it's live. Plus Ill adjust my interview preparation resources to give my clients the best possible chance of passing!
