16.01.2022 Happy Full moon in Cancer, Cancer's archetype is the crab and it's constellation is the moon itself representing our emotions, ability to nurture ourselves and tap into intuition. Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac, and 2020 was also a number 4 year in numerology. The number 4 represents the home - the heart of who we are and feeling at home within ourselves. Most of us have spent much more time at home this year. As we draw close to the year we can shine the Light on what ...being at home physically, mentally and energetically means to us. Do you feel safety, comfort, love, and warmth? If not, why not? Are there thoughts/beliefs holding you back from putting down roots and feeling settled within? Now is the time to let go of all that is weighing you down and all that feels heavy. For today, allow the energies of the Moon to guide you to your inner home, where all is safe and all is well. 13.01.2022 Yoga is not a work-out it is a work-in, and this is the point of spiritual practice to make us teachable to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are

12.01.2022 Happy Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Gemini. Lunar Eclipses are like extra potent Full Moons. They illuminate areas of our lives that need to be cleared and swept away. They shine a light on all that no longer needs to be present with us, revealing where we are holding on too tightly, and where we have to surrender and let go. Releasing and surrendering can leave us feeling vulnerable, afraid, or uncertain of what is to come. But this Lunar Eclipse holds t...he promise of a brighter season coming. Gemini, the sign of the twins, in ancient mythology, the twins were said to represent both the seen, tangible world and the unseen, intangible world. In essence the conscious and unconscious. Gemini is an air sign, which is rules our mind. We can feel more indecisive and our emotions can be hot and cold. It will be helpful to take a breath, to centre before acting. For today, be open and receptive, trust that you have this and allow yourself to dream, remembering what we focus on gets bigger! Namaste, Christina See more

12.01.2022 What is balance? And what does it mean to you? So often, we think of balance as some perfection. But balance is not found in one place or always in one way. And it is not the same at every moment. Balance is dynamic. If you are practicing a yoga posture that requires balance, you will wobble as you negotiate the space around you. The wobbling can be muscle fibers waking up and engaging to support you. Sometimes the wobbling is apparent, and other times it is imperceptible. Ei...ther way, balance is never still; we always have to navigate the world around us. In the same vein, when we seek balance in our daily lives, we don't always need the same things. To have our needs and desires fulfilled requires different things depending on what else is happening around us. Some days balance is staying in and reading a book; other days, balance is going to a party. What we need to be healthy and thriving shifts with the seasons, our schedules and what is going on in the world. We are most often thrown off the most by things we don't have any control over. Balance is both literal and metaphor. Practicing balance on the yoga mat can help you find ways to live a more balanced life. It is about finding your center, growing your roots, and expressing yourself out into the world around you. By building strength, focusing on the present moment, and connecting to your center, you make space to listen inwardly. You create the conditions to hear what you truly need. Then it is up to you to listen and act. For today, as life takes you off centre, when your to-do list seems endless or the busy-ness is overwhelming, reconnect to your breath, to the moment, the pause to align with the balance point.

11.01.2022 This months newsletter ... overcome overwhelm

11.01.2022 In the spiritual traditions I grew up in, I was taught to look for the good. I remember one of my teachers talk about seeing the extraordinary in the mundane. I don't think it is uncommon for humans to seek out the extraordinary. Whether in our everyday life or in our yoga practice, we want that thing that wows us. I, too, used to think that extraordinary occurrences were not the things that happened every day. That they were exceptional moments of great fortune or luck, but... through the teachings of yoga, I came to see the extraordinary in the everyday. To recognize the miracle in the mundane. Each breath we take. The sensations felt in the body. Enjoying a hot shower or a cup of tea. Feeling the sun on our face. A smile from a stranger or a snuggle with my son. All of these things that I could easily take for granted are extraordinary. The ordinary is extraordinary. And to recognize it is life-affirming. So whilst 2020 was a complicated year there were many extraordinary moments - they may have been profound or mundane. It is such a good practice to pause and think of the positives. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy new year - present to the extraordinary moments.

10.01.2022 Happy auspicious day! It is quite symbolic to have the Jupiter and Saturn as a planetary pair start its new 20-year cycle right on the day of the summer solstice, for both the conjunction aspect and the summer solstice represent important cyclical turning points in the cosmos. Whist the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction happens every 20 years, proximity increases power, and we haven’t had a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction this close to the earth since 1623. A conjunction is when the c...ycle involving the dynamics of two planets ends and begins. The summer solstice is the lightest day of the year, from this day forward, the days start to become shorter (darkness increases) and the evenings longer (lightness decreases), so the concept of an end and beginning is doubly highlighted today. Jupiter and Saturn are social planets that govern over matters of growth and structure. When they come together to form a Great Conjunction, it can signal significant changes for the collective. Vedic astrology calls this conjunction a Yukta Yoga the lord of growth, responsibility, wisdom Jupiter and the planet of karma Saturn. Jupiter & Saturn together points to your societal purpose and your gifts that help you accomplish it. When these two planets come together, outdated social forms and ways die in order to give birth to new ones These big boy planets join forces in the collaborative air sign Aquarius, inspiring us to embrace unconventional ways of thinking and focus on community work. This alignment will affect us through the years to come, so pay attention to any themes that come up for you now. Next year will have a very different tone from 2020. Our relationship with technology will accelerate in 2021 and we will be challenged to heal our relationship with each otherand ourselves. For today, focus on the Light around you, within you. 09.01.2022 A few snaps from this weekends yoga retreat!

08.01.2022 Happy New Moon in Scorpio. Ruled by the element of water, this new moon encourages us to feel deeply, to truly experience all emotions. Allow the deepest of fears, loves, hopes, and dreams, to rise up from the pit of our belly, up and out into a new space of awareness. As we practice in yoga, watching the thoughts and feelings as they arise, from a place of non-judgment. Remembering that you are not your emotions, you are simply the one that is experiencing them. Scorpio is r...epresented by the Scorpion but also the Phoenix. Both the Scorpion and the Phoenix have the same ability to transform. The Scorpion sheds its skin, the Phoenix learns how to rise from the ashes. Both of these creatures hold within them the power to completely transform, no matter what the past has brought their way. We are reminded that even when things burn to ashes and crumble around us, even when things in our lives are shedding and we can’t recognize ourselves in the mirror, that this is all part of the great cycle of life. Let this New Moon to show you the way through your own metamorphosis. For today, feel, transform and align to the True You, Namaste, Christina See more

08.01.2022 Last Saturday began an important holiday in India called Diwali. This festival, which lasts five days, is the celebration of light. It honors the mythological idea of the victory of good over evil. Diwali also coincides with the Hindu new year. Traditionally, families light the oil lamps, wear new clothes purchased for this day, and honor the goddess Lakshmi. Lakshmi stands for all that is good in the world. She represents beauty, abundance, and joy. And while we might pray f...or these and other good things in our lives, there is no promise they will come to us. Though we might like to think like the myths, the universe will always come back into balance, and that harmony and goodness will prevail. But the truth is that it's not guaranteed. We have to work for it. Festivals like Diwali are an opportunity to take some time and reflect. They offer spaciousness if we allow ourselves the time to look inside. The candle's flame that you see on the outside represents the spark of the divine within our own heart. This light holds infinite potential, and it is a reminder to ask ourselves, what can I do each day to bring goodness into my life and the world? Peace, harmony, balance, joy, etc. -these things take effort to maintain - every single day. It is a choice. This is precisely why you practice yoga. In practice, you learn to steady yourself and grow your roots. You connect to the strength and stability in your center. And you learn to maintain balance as you move through the poses on and off the yoga mat. If like me, your life is FULL and your mind is trying to convince you you don't need to practice, the practice is to practice regardless of the mind, your mind will thank you for it. Namaste, Christina

08.01.2022 This months newsletter ... blown away literally!

07.01.2022 Saturdays New moon falls in the nurturing and highly intuitive sign of Cancer. This cardinal water sign is ruled by the moon and represents the feminine, family, and our desire for safety, comfort, and security. Symbolised by the crab, it brings a compassionate and nourishing aspect along with the qualities of fearless loyalty and a protective nature. The hard outer shell represents the crab’s ability to protect not only its self, but those that it loves. The soft interior re...presents the sensitive, loving heart that the crab is often motivated by. How can you find a balance between the softness of the heart and the hard boundaries that are needed to feel safe and protected? The crab also carries its home on its back, which represents its desire to always feel safe and secure. Under these New Moon energies, we too can think about ways to feel more secure and at home with wherever we have landed. Feeling at home is really about acceptance. It is about embracing that this is where we need to be, even though we may feel challenged, fearful, or at odds with what lies before us. For today, practice radical and unwavering self-care by being gentle with yourself, standing up for yourself, setting boundaries, and moving from a place of compassion. Namaste, Christina See more

06.01.2022 Happy Full Moon in the first zodiac sign Aries! Aries is a fire sign, it governs the head and is ruled by Mars. With Mars in retrograde at present the energy can feel more internalized and directed at self. As we know, hot air rises, if our inner fire is strong we may feel anger and agitation below the surface making it a potent time to use our practice of awareness and breathing to let off any hot steam. The Moon is also conjunct with Chiron, an asteroid known as ‘The Woun...ded Healer’. Chiron represents our biggest wound, and our biggest opportunity for growth. Utilising the empowered expression of Aries we can draw upon the strength within to meet whatever challenges are arising in life and hold our own. When we struggle, when we make mistakes, we pick ourselves up and continue forward. For today, give yourself space to feel and reflect so that you can respond with your best version of YOU! 06.01.2022 Tomorrow the moon is at it's fullest in the most goal-oriented sign in the zodiac, Capricorn. The modern representation of Capricorn is the nimble mountain goat, a creature who can do amazing things balanced on precarious ledges. Traditionally, the symbol of Capricorn was not simply the goat, but the sea-goat: a goat with the backside of a fish. The surefooted goat who can climb even the steepest of mountain sides and sets lofty goals is paired with the loopy fish tail that s...wims to the watery depths of the subconscious mind. With the full moon in this cardinal earth sign we can embrace it's duality - our ability to climb to the top of the mountain and see everything with perfect clarity and swim in the depths of the ocean, riding the flow of life. The essence of this full moon is about purpose. For today draw upon Capricorn's energy to see where you want to go, then take the persistent and steady steps to manifest your intentions. When plans don't go to plan, make new plans. Namaste, Christina See more

06.01.2022 Happy Full Moon in the fixed Earth sign, Taurus. Ruled by Venus, the energy of this full moon is incredibly sensual and in touch with the material plane, making it the perfect time to go deeper into self-love and self-care practices. Taurus also illuminates our needs for safety and security, to have a solid foundation in order to feel grounded and supported. Organising your finances might be a priority, or attending to practical matters you have been neglecting. Honesty, whic...h is an integral value of Taurus, will bring authenticity to the forefront. The opposing sun in Scorpio, who is all about deep investigation and radical vulnerability, will help to encourage this self-evaluation: are you being real with yourself? And are you being real with others? Unearthing what is hidden in the shadows by shining a light on them is the first step to powerful transformation. Uranus, the planet of rebellion and liberation, will be tightly conjunct this full moon. The impulsivity and maverick-like nature of Uranus is at odds with the permanence and stability that Taurus seeks. This aspect might cause unexpected emotions to surface, or unexpected events and accidents to occur. With Mercury also retrograding through Scorpio, it is extremely important to pay attention to the details and listen carefully before rushing into anything. For today, align to your priorities and ground yourself with some extra TLC. Namaste, Christina See more

06.01.2022 As planned, I am having the first week of the school holidays off from teaching to spend time with my family. Classes will resume on Monday 5th July. With the current advice to wear a mask in all indoor premisses (except home), I am hesitant to resume classes in person but will most definitely continue them on zoom. More info on this to come. Now is the time to really draw upon your yogic toolbox. Stay present, conscious of your movements, connected to your breath, be mindful of what you are taking in and giving out and be kind to yourself and others. Much love xx
