24.01.2022 The sun is out. A great day for netball. Disinfectant and hand sanitizer set up and ready to go
23.01.2022 As per today's announcement - all sport is cancelled for the next two weeks due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. We are sad to have to shut down but believe it important to ensure the health and safety of our community. Stay tuned for more details as we are made aware of them.
23.01.2022 This is earlier than normal as we are attending a new carnival - NOMINATE NOW!!!
17.01.2022 NOTICE TO ALL CLUBS A special meeting of the SAUCNA Board members was convened last night to consider options for the coming Winter 2020 Season, and associated events, in light of the additional updates on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation announced by the Prime Minister. The Board have been communicating regularly over the past weeks, as the landscape of the pandemic has been changing, considering all possible courses of action. What has been paramount in the discussions... in the safety and wellbeing of all players, umpires, coaches and officials, including the consideration of the positive mental health effects of sport and recreation. The Board has resolved that the Winter 2020 season will be postponed until May 23 and that they will continue to monitor Federal and State Government recommendations in regard to actions that should be taken to ensure the safety of all members of the SAUCNA community. As clubs have not yet been invoiced for affiliation fees, new invoices will be drawn once the season is commenced and the number of matches to be played has been determined. As a result of the postponement, the following activities/events have been cancelled or postponed: Postponed 23rd March Book night. A revised date will be released closer to the commencement of matches. Cancelled 30th March/6th April Representative Team trials. Those who have nominated will be contacted regarding refund of the deposit. Cancelled 15-17th April Junior camp. Those who have registered will be contacted by the camp site and refunded. Cancelled 4th 11th July Gold Coast Carnival. It has been decided that it is too risky to travel for this tournament. (Note: at this time the carnival has not been cancelled, just our involvement) Clubs will be advised of a revised draw once the season start date has been confirmed. Further, we recommend all club training be postponed until two weeks prior to the commencement of the season, provided government advice is adhered to and increased hygiene practices are in place at that time. Netball Australia has released an excellent resource identifying key general and netball hygiene protocols (see attached) which we encourage you to circulate to all club members. Like you, we are disappointed not to be able to commence the Winter 2020 season as scheduled and we thank all those who have worked diligently on the season arrangements to date. We appreciate the patience of all members as the Board has worked towards the best possible outcome for all during this difficult and frustrating time. We will be in contact with you as additional information becomes available and wish you all good health as we move closer to getting back to the court and the game we all love. See more
16.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest in the COVID Marshal positions. We have reached our required quota for all positions. If you have not yet been contacted you will receive either an email or inbox message today. Again, thank you all for your interest
16.01.2022 If there are any umpires that can help out please contact urgently.
16.01.2022 Some updated instructions for movement in and around the courts due to our COVID-19 Management plan are now available on the SAUCNA website and have been communicated to all club secretaries. Let's keep up the good work http://www.saucna.net/pageitem.aspx
15.01.2022 Welcome to Grand Final Day!! Let's make it a great day for everyone. Please remember that we are limited to ONE spectator per player (including siblings). We need to continue to work together (maybe give permission for people to video the match for those who can't attend) so that we can continue to provide netball for our community. The Summer season is only 4 weeks away!!!
15.01.2022 COVID-19 update - please check out the news item on the SAUCNA webpage regarding issues we are facing regarding the start of our Summer Competition this week. https://tinyurl.com/y2vpyynl The Board is doing everything they can to get started but are currently at the mercy of SA Health. We hope you all understand.
14.01.2022 If you are looking for a place to watch the SSN Grand Final this weekend with some friends - why not check out this event
11.01.2022 Based on feedback from SA Health and SAPOL, we are seeking FOUR people to take up the role of Dedicated COVID marshal for duty on each night of competition (preferably from within the SAUCNA community). This would be a role for the entire summer season 2020/21 and will commence this week. You can identify which night/s you are available and you must be available for the whole night with NO other role on that night. An honorarium payment will be made to each marshal. If you are interested you will need to complete the COVID Marshal course and have a current working with children check. Please send your expression of interest to the inbox - DO NOT post your interest in a reply below.
10.01.2022 This afternoon we have been advised that our COVID-19 management plan has been approved. Whilst it is too late for matches that were due to commence tonight, matches WILL go ahead from tomorrow (Wednesday 14th October). Please remember that we are bound by the plan which means ONE spectator per player only and NO teams are permitted to enter the venue if matches are in progress. You must wait in the carpark until the officials on the gates allow entry. Entry is through th...e large EASTERN gate and exit is through the middle and WESTERN "gates" to the carpark. Teams playing on courts 12-24 are asked to QUICKLY exit towards Goodwood road/Anzac Highway and then proceed to the carpark to allow the incoming teams to enter without problem in time to warm up and commence matches. If we all work together on this we will get a full season however ANY breach of the processes may result in a $75,000 fine to the association and the cessation of the season until further notice. Please help us to have an enjoyable season. See you all tomorrow
10.01.2022 SAUCNA would like to reassure its community we are closely monitoring protocols regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We will be guided by federal and state government, as well as the advice of medical experts to ensure the wellbeing of our netball family. We are also monitoring Netball Australia’s handling of this situation. For the latest advice from the Australian Government https://www.health.gov.au/heal/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov At this stage, all events under the au...spices of SAUCNA will go ahead as planned and we will provide updates as soon as new information comes to hand. Sport Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport has set up an information portal, for further information https://www.health.gov.au/heal/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov In the interest of increasing hygiene practices, players are reminded it is okay to avoid shaking hands with opposition at the end of a game given the current risks. As an alternative, we encourage players to use verbal congratulations to display sportsmanship and gratitude. Our members are encouraged to direct any queries to the SAUCNA Secretary. We will keep you updated

08.01.2022 Just in case you missed the report on 9News last night.
08.01.2022 Unfortunately our COVID-19 Management plan has still not been approved and as such the Board has had to make the difficult decision to cancel all matches scheduled for Tuesday 13th October. We are hoping that approval will come through quickly and that matches for the rest of the week will be able to go ahead. If we have to cancel further matches this will be posted no later than 4pm on the day of the matches (as per the Hot Weather Policy). We are sincerely apologetic for this outcome and thank you all for your continued patience. Club secretaries will be sent additional information on Tuesday 13th October regarding playing conditions etc.
07.01.2022 At the recent AGM a new Life Member was accepted by the member clubs - congratulations Mark Walker. Presented by life member and Secretary, Margaret Johnson and joined in the group photo by life members in attendance: (left to right) Margaret, Dean Lawrence, Mark, Pearl Jenkins, Graham Vincent and Judy Bynoe (Patron).
06.01.2022 We ARE back! The commissioner has just released the updated Public health direction and our competition can recommence Tuesday 1st Dec. We are still operating under all previous conditions of the COVID management plan so PLEASE ensure contact tracing forms are completed correctly and you obey the directions of our COVID marshals. Let's stay safe and play some netball. Remember - if you are unwell or have any symptoms - STAY HOME!
05.01.2022 Don't forget - AGM tonight. 7:00pm Rosefield Uniting Church, Carlton Street, Highgate. All clubs nominating for Winter must send at least one representative. Documents for AGM have been sent to all club secretaries and are on the SAUCNA webpage.
05.01.2022 Last night SA Health sent two inspectors to check that we were sticking to our COVID-19 Management Plan and observe our procedures. As a result of the visit some suggestions to improve our plan were made and these will be implemented from Friday 16th October. To ensure the safety of everyone attending we have been given permission for people attending the second and third matches each night to congregate on the grassed areas between the clubrooms and Goodwood Road. Therefore, the new procedures for entering and exiting the courts have been sent to club secretaries and are available on the SAUCNA webpage. http://www.saucna.net/pageitem.aspx We thank everyone for their patience in this matter and hope that "version 3" will be the winner
04.01.2022 Calling all SAUCNA members - the call for nominations for Board members has gone out and closes Monday 3rd February. PLEASE consider coming on board. You do not have to be on your club's committee. You don't have to know anything about netball. (One of our past board members, longest serving, had never played, coached or umpired a single game. If she could do it, so can you). You just have to have time to attend ONE meeting per month and offer to help where possible. The ...Board has SEVEN vacancies out of EIGHT general members so please consider helping out. We are also in need of a TREASURER. See nomination form details and information about the Treasurer position in the news area of the SAUCNA website homepage (www.saucna.net). The association can not run itself!! We need help.
04.01.2022 Proudly supporting Community Round for Breakthrough mental health research. Take some time today to consider those who suffer.
02.01.2022 Due to a burst water main near the courts and no water for the facilities all matches tonight at Association courts are cancelled. Apologies for the late notice. Priceline still playing
