25.01.2022 Every month a full moon will appear and this is traditionally when a Hindu cleansing ceremony will take place. Someone starting a new job, a new project or who may be ill may likely partake in this ritual The land owner of our Saudara Beach Hut; Agung was part of a cleansing ceremony a few days ago for the last Full Moon and has shared the intimate ceremony with me to be able to share with you. 25.01.2022 Today is known as Kuningan Day which is 10 days after Galungan and it’s believed that the spirits of the ancient ancestors return to heaven. The word ‘Kuning’ means Yellow and Nasi(rice) Kuning is delicious yellow rice made with coconut milk and tumeric. It is often eaten for breakfast by people in Bali. To celebrate the departure of the spirits, offerings of Nasi Kuning are placed in a bowl made of coconut leaves. The yellow rice is the symbol of human’s gratitude towards ...God for all the life, joy, wealth, health and prosperity given. The bowls are often decorated with a small figures of shadow puppets which represents angels that bring joy and wealth to earth. We are just now waiting for her to settle into the Saudara Family #saudarabeachhut Not only did she arrive 18months late, she has had a rocky start considering the climate she has been welcomed in to. One king bedroom with a lounge downstairs that can convert to include an additional two people, with two private balconies for the ultimate relaxation experience. ... We could not feel more proud of her if we tried. Nowhere in Seminyak will you have your very one private Beach Hut and be a tiny 30m from the waters edge. Thank you to the entire Saudara Team for helping with the birth of this absolute beauty. 02.01.2022 For anyone who has heard the word Nyepi , yet never actually understood what it means, this is a great production that shows perfectly what Nyepi is. On the 14th of March this year, all of Bali will shut down for the most religious day of the Hindu calendar. There is no leaving your home, no work. No noise, no lights, no cars, no planes.....It’s a day of complete silence. Sounds like heaven! It’s a time to pray and reflect.
