25.01.2022 Here at Sauvage Urbain, we love @dreamfarm ! These guys started up here in Canberra, and have since won the Reddot Award in 2019, and two other design awards! Here is one of their newer products, the Ortwo. This is a pepper, salt and spice mill, that is designed to be multifunctional. Well the Gefu pull chopper is for you The Gefu pull chopper is a small and easy option to quickly whip up a pesto (recipe below), nuts, or even protein balls! These choppers come with a soft mixing attachment, salad spinner basket, and a chopping blade, to suit all your food prep needs! They are available at all o...f our stores. Here’s a recipe for a quick and easy pesto for 2! Ingredients: - 2 bunches of basil - 1/4 cup of pine nuts - 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese (grated or chunks) - A few tablespoons of any cooking oil (olive is recommended) - 250g dry penne pasta Method: - Pluck and rinse your basil leaves. - Add your leaves, nuts and cheese into a processor or mortar and pestle, and process/mash until slightly broken down. - Add olive oil 1 tablespoon at a time, processing in-between additions, until you reach a creamy consistency. You can process your pesto to as chunky or fine as you’d like! - Reserve pesto in an airtight container if using that day, or in a jar with extra oil poured ontop to stop oxidisation. - Cook your pasta as per your brands instructions, and reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water. - Drain your pasta, and put your pesto and pasta water in a saucepan on low heat. 03.01.2022 Who’s excited for cocktail weather?? I’ve started to experiment with cocktail making during lockdown, and thought i’d share some tips and tricks that i’ve picked up along the way! The secret to any good cocktail is this:... - 1 nip of spirit - 1 nip of acid - 1 nip of sweet - top up with a mixer! It really is that simple. And when it comes to shaken or stirred, don’t shake citrus! Shaking citrus, such as lime or lemon juice, brings out a bitter acid flavour, rather than a fresh acid. I’ve devised a recipe for a tequila cocktail that is yet to be named And it is absolutely to die for! You need 1 nip of gold tequila, 1 nip of lime juice (fresh is best), 1 nip of sugar syrup, and give it a stir. Pour into your favourite cocktail glass that’s been dipped in ground rock salt, and top up with soda water.
