23.01.2022 Event Jul 3rd: Mirage w/ Savage x Cat House Excited to get our first 2021 Savage event going. For this long-awaited return, we have aimed to explore more of what Melbourne has available to us. This melting pot of creativity and radical expression wants us artists to look further than what is currently in front of us. Colour nightclub has helped us to explore and develop these ideas. A Melbourne cultural institution in its own right and a venue well known for their strong huma...nitarian values, Colour strives for diversity in all aspects; from the styles of different events that frequent the venue, to the nurturing and promoting of artists of all backgrounds, creeds, and affiliations. 21.01.2022 Refugee Week: Unity 2021 In commemoration to all the refugees that find themselves residing in this nation, Savage Member Hadi wishes to share this poem about his own experiences and feelings. ... The Land.... Since the day I jumped on a boat, my life and me turned into a boat. I am floating on a massive ocean. Being on the Ocean is scary. Being alone, not knowing about the future. Being a stranger, not knowing if I can put my feet on land again. Yes it is scary. All of this woke me up like a nightmare in the middle of a deep sleep. I have been dreaming about lands. I have seen land in my dreams and my life on it or with it . A beautiful land. An island with all those mountains and rivers . I ran to it to hug it, keep it close to my chest but it wasn’t real. My dreams are stronger than real life, that’s why I keep dreaming . BUT I am scared. I don’t know if this broken, old boat can make it to a pier one day. Some people are just lonely boats . They are floating for all their life and never get to a pier. Am I one of them ??? I don’t know. I close my eyes and try to go to sleep. While first being more into Deep House / Micro House and Minimal Music, he slowly developed his passion & love for deep Techno music, Ambient & IDM. With his friend Till Hennig he organized a few Techno event series in Augsburg at Ideal Club, the famous Schwarzes Schaf and City Club, where they invited numerous DJs & Live acts from around the globe. In his DJ sets he blends Ambient & Techno to achieve a unique hypnotic, spacey & dreamy atmosphere.
19.01.2022 JXTPS. Mirage Headliner. 3rd July. A LIVE act and performance of Naarm/Melbourne producer Luc P. Juxtpose / JXTPS centers his live act around the Elektron Rytm drum machine and loops, where his style navigates the minimalistic realm of sounds with ease and expertise.... Originally named Juxtpose in 2013; he began this particular journey while playing at the infamous Pleasure Planet events, gaining ample experience within the industry. That is until 2017, where he split the act, and JXTPS was birthed to become the new vehicle for his more techno-flavoured ideas. He has released countless EP’s for international labels such as Catch Recordings, Fanzine, Circular Limited, Planet Rhythm, Suara, showing the vastness of his production abilities. Today, the stylistic direction of JXTPS seems to be heading towards even faster BPM, with further dynamic mix-ups of Jungle and Deep techno elements. A true wizard of the craft, we can not wait to bask in the soundscape that he creates for us. 18.01.2022 Welcome to Merge! A new concept centered around building connection and facilitating collaboration. A gathering that nurtures a space to be an artist's creative playground.... Covid has made one thing very apparent. That we yearn for connection. For it was connection that got many of us through that time. To be there for one another not just as support in times of need, but also as a point of ignition in times of abundance. If one person could paint a picture worth a thousand words, then two people together could make that a 1 million word picture. For collaboration is not just additive, but multiplicative. The potential for impactful creations is grandiose. And the opportunity is ours - as creative people - to explore to our hearts content. Think of this as a dynamic interactive art exhibit. An immersion into the creative flow of our peers. Discover the beauty that has emerged from the minds and souls of our fellow humans and discover what foresight may be brought about. Follow your curiosities. Ask questions and expand your perspective. Interact with other curious beings. You may even find yourself being closely aligned with an artist you meet. For this first installment, a secret venue will play host to a variety of creative ‘acts’ layered around the Merge playground. A live muralist takes the stage centre, showcasing their paint artistry of graffitic stylings. A selection of aural artists will be supplying tunage, creating an atmosphere that opens you up for experience, and invites you to connect with others. 17.01.2022 Savage Sessions 27 features: Adelia (Prague) Link in comments. Adelia is a techno artist based in Prague where she runs a lot of her own events. She has also been invited for many gigs in Slovakia amongst other regions. Currently residing in Spain, she has also been involved in video streaming SubRadio Barcelona. During the pandemic last year, Adelia turned her focus on her mixes and channeled her passion by contributing to renowned podcasts such as Oslated, Fur:ther Sessions..., Prior Act, BAHN Records, KVLTÖ and many more. 11.01.2022 Cat House Melbourne A crew that we at Savage have been bumping shoulders with for the last few years. Their drive for pushing underground techno in Melbourne is nothing short of inspiring. Over the years, they have brought incredible artists to our shores including Wrong Assessment (Italy), Cleric (UK) & Lewis Fautzi (Portugal). Their event series Hardware Theory - an all live performance event - brought about a new and dynamic concept to dance events. We have shared space o...n the dancefloor and also behind the decks. They are our peers, our colleagues, and our friends. They helped us on our Bushfire Fundraiser (Jan 2020), and we are excited to once again collaborate with these cool cats for what will surely be a night of techno bliss. Representing Cat House for Mirage, DJ/LIVE duo Lost Reflexion will be stepping onto the decks to explore the dynamic shades of electronic music. Their diverse forms of expression include Ambient to Experimental to Broken Beat, which makes for interesting soundscapes to emerge in their sets. Someone who shares our alternative taste in art and unorthodox perception of life, we honestly couldn’t think of anyone better to join our team:... John Nguyen A dancefloor companion, film enthusiast and very close friend John has nestled himself organically within the Savage crew. Although John wasn’t formally invited to be a part of Savage, he naturally fell into the depths of our collective and became the final piece to our puzzle, and since being a part of Savage, we have now realised just how important his role is within our team. As a creative consultant, John has all of the organizational skills we we’re missing to help mould together our projects and events, as well as an incredibly contagious vibrant energy and passion for all things artistic. Already being a team of diverse creatives, John is filling the missing gaps that will help Savage achieve their goals with some very exciting upcoming projects. Quale(aka Seb Vanderbeken) is one of Melbourne’s most experienced DJs. Stacking up over 20 years of DJ wisdom, Quale’s precise, clean edged sound is a testament to his proficiency behind the decks.... Listening to JeanMichel Jarre at 10. Inspired by his first hearing of underground trance in Belgium at 12, buying his first vinyl at 15 and requisitioning his parents belt drive and an ex club, rotary pitch Technics. He cut his teeth on this set up and quickly developed therequisite sense of timing and fluidity, so apparent in his work, now. Quale applied himself to the clubbing circuits of Belgium,France and the Netherlands and then a cycle of country hopping that would begin with England and whose current end resides with Australia. Quale has played alongside a plethora of techno royalty, including Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Dave Clarke, Ben Klock, Truncate/Audio Injection, Perc, Polar Inertia, Tommy Four Seven and Etapp Kyle, to name just a few.
