21.01.2022 Expectations of Black Box Colour Removal 2nd visit update! Lately Ive had a lot of people come in with dark hair and want it light instantly. ... I mean who wants red orange hair? I get it. But the reality is, it doesn't happen overnight. Years and years of colour over colour creates a build up and one application isn't going to magically make you blonde. It takes time. It takes extra care and it costs money. Reality and expectations are two different things. The reality of going light from dark means more than just a few extra visits, it's also requires maintenance. After care during and after the process is very important when lightening your hair. Straight up, bleaching is damaging to the hair. The cortex becomes exposed, split ends appear, and hair breaks. In addition to all the chemicals you’ve subjected your hair to, daily styling and environmental stress serve to further damage your locks. When hair is coloured or lightened, the bonds that make up the cellular membrane complex are broken, so that colour can either be deposited or in the case of lightening, removed. Expectations of keeping those long luscious locks during a colour removal isn't realistic. Slow and steady wins the race. With this lovely lady we had to cut off 4 inches of split ends and we have started on a professional protein and moisture after care range so that in a few months time we can assess where we are at and only then will we make the decision to push it any further. 10.01.2022 This before and after pic of keratin smoothing is perfect for those who REALLY have the fluffy/frizzy hair. Before pic is freshly washed and air dried. Middle pic is after. Dried off with nothing but a comb to keep it tangle free and fingers.... Final pic is after with irons ran over the ends. The middle pic is where your life is going to change. Not the final pic. Keratin smoothing treatments won't make the hair dead straight. It's going to tame the frizz! And make things so much more manageable. by the time you get those irons out, you only really need to smooth it over once.
