21.01.2022 SAVE EMPIRE BAY’S HERITAGE LISTED BOATSHED FROM CROWN LANDS NEGLIGENCE. The boatshed could be a great community use facility, its heritage listed and pretty much the last example in Brisbane Waters - why do NSW Crown Lands want to demolish it? They have no problem forking out $7 Million to restore a heritage listed wharf down South.... https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au//$7.1-million-for-tathra-w Once the site is remediated from years of neglect and poor management practices the boatshed could be a self sustaining community use facility. Crown Lands have collected rent for decades and stood by while the building fell in to disrepair. If this were Mosman or Balmain there would be no questions asked, the site would not be destroyed, it would be preserved. But here on the Central Coast heritage has less value for some reason? The boatshed and wharf could also be the basis of a project to reinstate ocean baths at Empire Bay?
