18.01.2022 Help ban backyard fruit tree netting in Victoria - the silent killer!

11.01.2022 This is so heartbreaking. The effects of climate change are real :( We can all make a difference and help reduce global carbon emissions by eating less meat. Animal agriculture is a leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation.

08.01.2022 URGENT - Please vote NO for the culling of the Yarra Bend flying fox colony in Kew proposed due to unsubstantiated fear over Coronavirus! https://www.theage.com.au//expert-bats-away-call-for-ridic

07.01.2022 Grey Headed Flying Foxes sold for meat in South East Asia.....HOW CAN YOU HELP? Please support my amazing friend and veteran Sea Shepherd crew member Tod Emko as he embarks on a conservation trip to Indonesia. Tod and his team will be directly rescuing wildlife such as orangutans, flying foxes, dogs and cats and documenting the effects of palm oil plantations and illegal smuggling on wildlife populations.... They hope to build a permanent animal hospital in the area and will undertake local humane education programs. Supporters can also receive exclusive video footage of their rescue mission!

02.01.2022 Nara, an orphaned grey headed flying fox, enjoying a slice of banana. Nara is one of the greys we took in from the fires and droughts in NSW late last year whic...h caused hundreds of babies to need care. Little Nara was very emotionally traumatised from her ordeal but soon settled into care with her carer. Grey headed flying foxes are a federally listed threatened species so we did everything we could to take on large numbers of these babies and return them to the wild where they belong. Nara is currently at creche where she is practicing her flying, socialisation and becoming dehumanised in preparation for her release. **all of our rescuers and rehabbers are fully vaccinated** Remember that any bat by itself during the day is in need of help. Don’t touch the bat and give us a call immediately on 0488 228 134 for Brisbane and surrounds or your local wildlife rescue for other regions.
