25.01.2022 Green port ermwe don’t think so Gascoyne Gateway launched its controversial industrial proposal for a major deep-water port that would extend ~1km into beautiful Exmouth Gulf, Ningaloo. It would need dredging and would draw some of the biggest ships on the seas deep into the Gulf across the path of dugongs, whales and their calves, where corals, seagrass meadows, sponge gardens thrive.... See our reaction on ABC News. The wildlife footage you can see in the story was filmed in the vicinity of where this port would be built and where massive ships would travel e.g. oil and gas vessels, mega cruise ships, fuel tankers, bulk cargo vessels etc. We can’t allow Exmouth Gulf to be industrialised! Scroll through last night’s bulletin to 16mins, 15secs https://iview.abc.net.au/video/NU2008W253S00

20.01.2022 What a week! Here's an awesome video from Andre Rerekura and Nush Freedman of some friendly spinner dolphins at Ningaloo. We hope it makes you smile & even inspires you to send a short submission to the EPA about why Exmouth Gulf - Ningaloo’s Nursery - is so special to you: https://www.protectningaloo.org.au/haveyoursay/

18.01.2022 This time last week more than 100 Exmouth locals gathered at Qualing Pool to say NO to industrialisation at Exmouth Gulf. This is where Gascoyne Gateway wants to build a major deepwater port that would stretch about 1km out to sea. It's such a unique, fragile and diverse environment, where dugongs feed on seagrass, humpbacks nurse their calves and much more. It's also a popular beach for local families who love to swim and fish here. We need to look after Exmouth Gulf, Ningaloo’s nursery!

17.01.2022 Inspiring to see so many Exmouth locals taking a stand at Qualing Pool to say NO to INDUSTRIALISATION and the Gascoyne Gateway deepwater port. Have a read of this new article from WAToday to find out why more than 100 locals organised their own gathering to protect their beloved Exmouth Gulf. https://www.watoday.com.au//exmouth-port-proposal-could-de

16.01.2022 Love seeing the support and shared concerns about a major deepwater port proposal for the Ningaloo-Exmouth Gulf area in the comments on this post from ABC Pilbara.

13.01.2022 How amazing are the #protectningaloo supporters! Julia Hales sent us this painting of a beautiful variegated fairywren that she painted from a photo she took at Qualing Pool, Exmouth. Julia told us she saw an incredible amount of birdlife at the freshwater spring in the creek, but the mudflats also offered great diversity from octopus, manta shrimp, oystercatchers and even a Spanish dancer nudibranch. This creek is truly one of the gems in Exmouth. We agree! Have you been to Qualing Pool? What did you love about it?

07.01.2022 These beautiful images are from a spot in Exmouth Gulf known as the sponge gardens. The Gulf’s biodiverse marine ecosystem is where a lot of life begins and thrives - it’s also Ningaloo’s nursery. Further proof of just how special Exmouth Gulf is

05.01.2022 24 HOURS TO GO! There are just over 24 hours left to let the Environmental Protection Authority know what you value about Exmouth Gulf and want for its future. This is a vital opportunity to have your say in the fight against industrialisation. If you'd like to make a short submission, make sure you do that before 5pm (WA time) tomorrow, Wednesday, 11 Nov via our website: https://www.protectningaloo.org.au/haveyoursay/ If you need further inspiration, this beautiful footage w...as shot recently in the vicinity of where the Gascoyne Gateway deepwater port would be built, which is one of the major industrial projects the EPA needs to consider in its assessment. 04.01.2022 We’ve seen a wave of concern from the community about the Gascoyne Gateway deepwater port proposal for Exmouth Gulf. Read more about our position on it in this story from ABC & via our homepage which also links to the EPA’s invitation to comment on the Gulf’s values and the pressures it faces, including from potential future developments like the deepwater port. https://www.abc.net.au//proposed-multi-user-green/12799854

03.01.2022 Alarm at plans for ‘Pilbara-style’ port at popular Exmouth beach - Big new story from WAtoday.com.au From the article: Protect Ningaloo director Paul Gamblin said the [Gascoyne Gateway deepwater port proposed for Exmouth Gulf] was completely out of place and would compromise the area's unique natural and tourism offering. "This is a turning point potentially for the area, does it become an extension of the Pilbara or does it become more like Ningaloo Reef where it's the na...tural values that we value most and that support a resilient economy?" he said. "People come up here with their families for the most part and they enjoy the fact that it's not industrialised, that it's low-key. The last thing they want is oil and gas bulk carriers and massive cruise ships coming down into the gulf." https://www.watoday.com.au//tourism-boon-or-encroaching-in

02.01.2022 Congrats to Meerkats (Wunderman Thompson) with whom we worked earlier this year to create our #BeautifulNingaloo campaign to protect Exmouth Gulf from industrialisation.
