25.01.2022 Attention: Mosman, Manly and Southern Warringah Residents HPG is letting you know that the NSW Governments deadline for submissions on its proposal to amalgamate Mosman, Manly and part of Warringah into a much larger "mega-council" is this coming Sunday, February 28 at 5pm. The majority of the HPG Committee believe that the ramifications on the future of public parklands and bushland, including the Harbour Trust sites, could be significant.... We are passing on instructions from the local group "Mosman Against Forced Amalgamation" - MAFA www.hpg.org.au/mafa which also contain 2 pro-forma submissions (short and long) in WORD format.

24.01.2022 Whatever happened to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service DRAFT PLAN FOR MIDDLE HEAD, on public exhibition until December 2016? Why is the draft plan now marked "final November 2016", a month before the public consultation ended? Why were the results of public consultation never published, as promised?... Is NPWS moving forward with its commercial plans anyway? Did you know that Deborah Snow of the The Sydney Morning Herald published a very interesting story around this time http://www.smh.com.au//nsw-national-parks-and-wildlife-ser? where she wrote: "The service is also spruiking Middle Head, with its rich heritage of historic military fortifications, as a superb lookout spot in Sydney Harbour National Park able to be used for "commercial and public events such as live performances, festivals and product launches." "A new draft masterplan for Middle Head links increased corporate hiring to revenue generation opportunities and anticipates that events for up to 600 people could be held among the historic military fortifications, some of which date back to the early 19th century. Camping and accommodation proposals have also been also under consideration. 23.01.2022 North Sydney Council axes synthetic turf and harbourside Anderson Park. Time for Mosman Council to "un-support" same at beautiful Middle Head (owned not by Council but by Harbour Trust thankfully so needs Trust approval). 05.01.2022 my letter published today Sydney Morning Herald - the large area of national parklands are split between 2 bodies (1 state and 1 federal) due to Defences departure 20 years ago - and the publics desire to see a federal trust created and provided with enough money for the extensive capital works - which has turned out to be the right decision. Much of the lands sit side by side. The Defence land was slated for sale to developers but a vigorous and historic campaign stopped it. Linda Bergin OAM Founding President

Very detailed and sets out how Trust will comply. I like this sentence page 4, partly in BOLD "The conservation of places of heritage significance is not a matter of choice for the Trust: it is a statutory obligation and a fundamental reason for its existence."
