23.01.2022 After a year that has affected all is so many ways and not being able to get together as a community, we thought it would be great to have a Christmas get together for those able to join, catch up and celebrate what we have achieved this year. Due to COVID restrictions we can only have 90 people in the Hall and 50 in the supper room. All food will need to be served by a couple of people only rather than everyone helping themselves and we will be keeping a register of attende...es either logging in through the Service NSW App QR code or adding names to a written list. In light of these restrictions, we need fairly definite numbers. We have said RSVP December 18th. We do appreciate that not everyone will know their plans due to harvest that early, but if we can get as many indications of attendees asap that would be wonderful. Maybe even something like, if you find you can come at the last minute, please ring and let us know.
23.01.2022 Tomorrow will be 40 years since the horric fires in Savernake (November 18th 1980). What are your memories? #savernake #bushfiresaustralia Federation Council Berrigan Shire Council
22.01.2022 ***Fire Donations*** EDIT: We have been advised from Lavington RFS that donations of clothing , linen, and goods are not needed at this point in time, rather they are looking for donations of perishable food to feed families and firefighters.... We wondered if the community would like to make a donation through the hall to assist with all the work being done in the fire areas. If anyone would like to contribute to a collection, donations can be made into the Hall account (please message the page for details) and we will then will either be sent to RFS or go and purchase the goods they are needing. We will be keeping in touch with the RFS and send funds to where they will be needed the most. We will still have a collection of other goods over the weekend which we will hold until those items are needed by the RFS, cash donations can also be made at the hall at the drop off times. - If anyone has anything they would like to donate to the huge amount of people currently affected by the horrible fires over Australian there will be having a collection point at the Savernake School of the Arts Hall at 9am Saturday and Sunday. If you have any clothing, bedding, toiletries and other things you feel would be needed please drop them off at the Hall and they will be forwarded onto groups to hand on.
22.01.2022 A story of one way to get back to Savernake before the borders closed due to a pandemic 101 years ago.
20.01.2022 Hi Everyone, These items of crockery have recently come to light, following a Hall working bee. If you recognize any, please contact any of the Hall committee to claim. The committee would appreciate any claims by the end of August please.

18.01.2022 Probably wouldn't drive the car up on Boat Rock anymore, but 1972 was a different era. Anyone recognise the participants?
18.01.2022 If you’re in need of a distraction while it feels like the world is caving in around us, we’ll be on tv today! Thanks @rosestreetpantry for sharing our story. ... ‘On this week’s episode of @rosestreetpantry we meet Ian and Courtney from @woodstockflour A young couple making us rethink the way we view the humble bag of flour. Established in 2016 Woodstock Flour has a focus on wholegrain, stoneground flours from grain grown on Ian’s family farm ‘Woodstock’ in Berrigan, NSW. Woodstock has been in Ian’s family for four generations and has been Certified Organic for 24 years. The farm integrates sheep, cattle and various crops on a beautiful 2000 acre property in the Southern Riverina. Ian and Courtney both wanted to work on the land and saw farming as a means for environmental restoration and community building. They also saw an opportunity to provide their community with fresh flour of known provenance, which wasn’t common at the time. After testing the waters with a small bench top flour mill at farmers markets, they imported a New American Stone Mill in early 2018 and have since been supplying freshly milled flour to bakeries, restaurants, shops and families in their local region and across Victoria! Thanks to our sponsor @nasaaorganic and partners @melbournefarmersmarkets @vicfarmersmarkets for all of their support x’

16.01.2022 Our Australia Day commenced cooking sausages at Bunnings, and ended attending an Australia Day celebration at the Savernake Hall. Lions were invited to attend t...he celebration to see how our donation to the Hall was utilized. These funds were from proceeds of the sale of donated fleeces at our annual wool show in 2017. Some of the farmers who donated these fleeces were also present. A lovely skillion to the hall had been built using the Wool show proceeds and was put to good use today. An amazing flag raising ceremony was held with a lone piper playing the nation anthem. This was followed by a lovely sit down dinner. An amazing community, friendly people and lovely food. Thanks to all concerned See more

07.01.2022 Dear all, A change of plans for Savernake this Australia Day. This year the hall committee will be holding an evening BBQ and dinner instead of the usual breakfast. We are planning this so if anyone is interested, they can go to Urana to support the Federation Council Australia Day celebrations at 9.00am. Kathryn has been nominated for an award and we want to support her in the morning. We hope this evening meal will suits community members and we look forward to seeing eve...ryone in the evening. Remember if it is really hot, the hall is now air-conditioned. Due to COVID regulations we have decided that the Hall committee will provide salads, as well as the BBQ meat. Please BYO drinks and a slice to share with a cuppa. Please note RSVP is the Friday before Australia Day for catering purposes. Please RSVP to Chonny on 0408 677 484 or [email protected] Looking forward to celebrating this day with everyone.
06.01.2022 A perfect summer's morning at the hall today saw the community enjoying Australia Day with the annual breakfast. Two people raised the flag this year as the bagpipes were playing by Graham Stewart and they both epitomise the community spirit: Kathryn Bruce who works tirelessly for several community organisations and was recently recognised for her work as Treasurer of the Savernake hall; and Greyd'n Davis who is the the Group Officer for the Southern Border Team for the NSW Rural Fire Service and has been busy of recent weeks protecting community abroad as a volunteer "firey.' Thank you to all that came and those that helped, it really does make this day a good one.
04.01.2022 The Savernake Book Club has set up a Book Depositary at the Hall. Anyone is welcome to exchange a book or just take one and return it once you have finished.

02.01.2022 It’s the time of the year again when the Cancer Council runs their Biggest Morning Teas as a fundraiser for Cancer research. As you are aware, the Savernake Hall committee have held a function the past 3 years in support of this appeal. Many of you have joined us for these events and supported us at this time.... Due to COVID 19 , we are unable to have either a morning tea of a luncheon, so we have decided to see is anyone is interested in continuing to support this appeal this year and make a donation through our fundraising page. The Cancer Council have used my name but the fundraising page is on behalf of the Hall committee. https://www.biggestmorningtea.com.au/fundraise/KathrynBruce Thank you for supporting us in previous years and we do hope we can hold something at the hall in 2021. You will have to come and see our Hall with its latest renovations thanks to a grant from the Drought Support Funds and the Federation Council.
