09.01.2022 Apparently there was intel that terrorist were going to strike the market on our busiest week leading up to Christmas. To mitigate this, these 'lovely' barriers were put in place to block Queen St from 830/9am till 3pm everyday last week. All this did was cause angst, anger, frustration and a lot of headaches for traders, delivery drivers, restaurant/cafe owners and most importantly the general customers. Last week was a vital week for all traders in the market to have Queen St as an easy access point, but according to management, their hands were tied as it was a department of justice decision.
