07.01.2022 Imagine going to work each day and being surrounded by beautiful fresh flowers Last month The Rain Florist Darwin at the Northlakes shops, celebrated their first birthday and this month they signed Darwin's first ever Floristry Trainee, Mary. Twenty year old Mary, started working with florist owner Bee, back in April during the uncertain times of COVID-19.... The teenager soon realised she had a passion for flowers and wanted to learn more, but unfortunately Darwin didn't have a natural pathway for budding florists. This hurdle didn't stop supportive boss Bee, who found a Queensland company that will train Mary online each week, while Bee trains Mary in store. After a few months of negotiations and an 'I won't take no for an answer' attitude, Bee and GTNT Group now have Darwin's first Floristry Apprenticeship. Congratulations to both Mary and Bee, we look forward to checking in again soon. Savvy Social has always highlighted the good happening in Darwin and across the Territory and we want to start sharing more local business stories, so if you have something to share, please shoot me an email at [email protected]
