24.01.2022 We’re super proud of our Mo Bros Alex, Cam, Paul, (another) Alex, Murat and Raza for supporting Movember Australia to inspire us all to be a man of more words. As the month draws to a close, here’s how the glorious mos fared from caterpillars to handlebars!

21.01.2022 That’s some ‘dam’ good abseiling! Our specially-trained Senior Engineer of Dams Nick, along with contractor Vertigo SA, recently navigated the 75 metre long Myponga Dam spillway, as part of regular inspections to make sure all your dams continue to be safe and reliable. For the best and safest view of the Myponga Dam, you can visit the nearby lookout or venture through the reserve during opening hours.

20.01.2022 Western areas of the Warren Reservoir Reserve including the dam wall lookout will be temporarily closed to visitors tomorrow, while National Parks and Wildlife Service SA conduct a prescribed burn within the nearby Hale Conservation Park. Go to reservoirs.sa.gov.au for more info.

19.01.2022 New year, same commitment to a reliable water service for our customers. From Hayborough to Hillcrest, we’ll be starting or resuming eight water main upgrades this month.

18.01.2022 Bolivar’s wastewater treatment plant is known for housing your pee and poo, but the wider 1150 hectare site is also home to a vital facility for Museum Of South Australia’s whale and dolphin collection. The purpose-built facility helps prepare skeletons of up to 20-metres-long for public display at the museum’s Adelaide’s CBD site. #FridayFacts

17.01.2022 To highlight the rich understanding and cultural connection to water that Aboriginal people have held for thousands of years, this week for NAIDOC Week, you’ll hear from five Aboriginal communities from across South Australia as they share their traditional and contemporary #WaterWisdom. We begin with the Adnyamathanha people in the northern #FlindersRanges, where in a persistently dry landscape, knowledge of water management is vital. #NAIDOC2020

17.01.2022 #ICYMI on ABC radio and online during NAIDOC Week a series of videos sharing the strong water connection and knowledge of five South Australian Aboriginal communities, is now available to watch on ABC Australia iView: https://ab.co/369ToZ4 #WaterWisdom #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

17.01.2022 Heading to the first ever NRL - National Rugby League State of Origin at Adelaide Oval tonight? Give one of our six drinking fountains a ‘try’ and fill up for free with clean, safe drinking water. #Origin

15.01.2022 Water main upgrades continue to flow across South Australia, with our important work ensuring a reliable supply of drinking water. After the pause in work last week, our crews have remobilised to nine sites to lay fresh pipes and will kick off another upgrade in Athelstone.

15.01.2022 If you’re planning on taking advantage of SA’s updated COVID-19 directions and stretching the legs, make sure to keep hydrated! Hot weather is on the way across the state today, so remember to #BYOB and stay safe.

15.01.2022 In preparation for fire danger season, we maintain our land across SA, including working with Environment SA News to conduct prescribed burns in reservoir reserves just like this recent one at Mount Bold. This helps protect the community, our people and vital infrastructure.

15.01.2022 The three-day circuit breaker sure was a thirsty one! Recent warmer weather and the majority of our community staying home to help stop the spread of COVID-19 resulted in South Australia’s water consumption reaching 982 million litres during the first day of lockdown around 40 per cent more than the daily average for November! 14.01.2022 Betty and Freddie know what it takes to keep cool on a hot day! With South Australia up for another scorcher today, don’t forget to stay hydrated with plenty of water. #BYOB

14.01.2022 Thanks to everyone for sending in your drinking water fountain photos, as part of our competition to win five family passes to this year’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. The winners have been notified and we look forward to seeing them at Adelaide Oval on Saturday! Whether you’ll be coming along or watching from home, don’t forget to keep hydrated. #BYOB

14.01.2022 There’s no better start to a Sunday than taking the kayak out on one of SA’s amazing reservoirs. Kayaks and canoes are welcome at South Para, Warren and Bundaleer, with dedicated launch areas at each site. More info: reservoirs.sa.gov.au.... @Keryl Karsten

13.01.2022 Big holes for a big pipe in a big job. Our crews have been working most nights to install five kilometres of sewer main along Heaslip Road in Angle Vale, and are now moving onto Curtis Road. Once complete, around 2500 properties will be able to connect to our sewer network.

11.01.2022 This eight-metre-high waste-loving anaerobic digester is now operating at your Port Lincoln Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of our $18 million upgrade. Microscopic bugs eat sludge inside the digester and help transform it into a source of renewable energy called biogas.

11.01.2022 Adding to the 50+ already operating across SA, 15 new drinking water fountains will soon be providing a free and environmentally-friendly way to keep you hydrated while out and about. Here’s Anna and Bee enjoying a cool drop at Brighton. To find out where your local fill-up point is, download our #BYOB app.

11.01.2022 The dam wall and lookout at Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve will today reopen to visitors, after it was closed during the Cherry Gardens fire and for several days following, until we could be sure the site was again safe. For more information, go to reservoirs.sa.gov.au.

11.01.2022 Movember Australia is here and we’re getting right behind it to help raise awareness and encourage conversation about men’s health issues. There’s a bunch of ways to get involved, so take the lead from our Mo Bros Raza and Cam and make some noise by growing, moving, or hosting. More: http://mvmbr.co/32fHquF

11.01.2022 Update on COVID-19 restrictions. You can now exercise outside with members of your household for a maximum of 2 hours. Please maintain physical distance. Visit www.sa.gov.au to find out more.

10.01.2022 Lace up your hiking boots more than three kilometres of new walking trail is now ready for you to explore at the Myponga Reservoir Reserve. Doubling the existing trail network for walking, running and bike riding, the new section which our rangers Stewart and Judd have already given the tick of approval unlocks an additional 140 hectares of the site’s stunning natural beauty. 09.01.2022 Reduce - Reuse - Repeat That’s the motto. Hear from our Anna Jackson for an insight into how we’re taking action on climate change by investing in sustainable water sources that will help enable a thriving South Australia. #NationalWaterWeek

08.01.2022 Talk about horsepower! Here, the local team use ploughs and their four-legged friends in shaping the Knott’s Hill service reservoir on lower Eyre Peninsula in 1920. #TimeWarpTuesday

08.01.2022 Hiding below the water at Blanchetown’s Lock One is this clever carp cage which removes the pest species from the River Murray, while still allowing native fish to swim through. So far this season, it’s caught a huge 77 tonnes, which is then used for cray bait or fertiliser. Read more at ABC Rural: http://bit.ly/carpcage

08.01.2022 It is going to be a hot one out there today, so remember to stay hydrated and keep cool! To help reduce the air temperature around the home, a 30 second flash-watering of your lawn or a leafy canopy will cool your garden for around 30 minutes.

06.01.2022 Have you paid a visit to one of our River Murray ‘lockies’ lately? In 2020, the team safely navigated more than 5,700 boats and other vessels through our 10 locks and barrages along the system, with the busy Goolwa Barrage accounting for around a third of the year’s traffic.

05.01.2022 SA’s biggest reservoir at Mount Bold is sitting at a healthy 70 per cent of capacity in stark contrast to a near empty water level in May, after we gradually drained the storage to enable inspection and upgrades to parts of the structure usually underwater. #SundayScenery

05.01.2022 The street may look familiar to Adeladians, but the equipment is certainly not typical of modern water main installations! These ‘tanks’ are helping lay steel pipes on Hutt Street in 1948, with steel still making up around 12 per cent of our water main network. #ThrowbackThursday

04.01.2022 Miss out on the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant ticket ballot? You can still win one of five family VIP passes to this year’s event at Adelaide Oval, simply by downloading our BYOB app and uploading a photo of a drinking fountain as a comment to this post, using the tag #BYOBSA. Entries close 11:59pm on 9 November, with winners notified the next day via a private Facebook message from us.... T&C: http://bit.ly/byobsa2020

04.01.2022 Although the hot weather has turned warm for much of the state today, we all still need to drink plenty of water and keep hydrated. To add a bit of flavour to your H2O, why not infuse it with some fresh fruit!

04.01.2022 Good luck to all finalists at tonight’s Australian Water Association SA Water Awards. The event celebrates outstanding contributions to the water industry, and we're hoping to mirror our successful performances in previous years and take home some wins!

02.01.2022 Summer has arrived early, with very hot weather on the way for SA later this week. To help prepare your lawn and plants for the forecast 40 degree temperatures this Friday and Saturday, give your backyard a good soak two days beforehand.

02.01.2022 Ever wondered how many sandbags are needed to cross the River Murray from one side to the other? In 1914, during a year of drought, the team at Berri created a temporary sandbag barrage using 23,000 chaff bags! #ThrowbackThursday

01.01.2022 This year marks 65 years of operation for the 87 kilometre Mannum to Adelaide Pipeline, which was the first built from the River Murray to provide drinking water to Adelaide. It still supplies the metro network, with around 49,000 megalitres of water delivered this year.

01.01.2022 Caring for Country reflects the importance Aboriginal people place on traditional land management, and this includes the ongoing sustainable management of water. The Boandik people of #MountGambier in South Australia’s south east continue to teach the newer generations about their community’s sacred connection to water and share the innovative water management practices of their ancestors. #WaterWisdom #NAIDOC2020
