17.01.2022 What is the most expensive thing in this picture? You don't have to spend heaps to have fun. Watercolour painting doesn't need to be expensive.... The most expensive part of this session was the masking tape! Enjoy

16.01.2022 Term 1 Session 6 Central School of Art Watercolours Here are some images of my demo paintings from and for last Saturday's session. The flowers were warm up ex...ercises for the portrait sessions. Two young women doing their best to ensure a better future for all mankind. Ideal subjects for portraiture and a pleasure to paint them. Enjoy (Still a number of places left in next term's Wednesday evening class at Central School of Art.) See more

13.01.2022 Meet Nord, the latest bear to join my collection. He’s a rough and tumble young bear. I know this because I found him at the Op Shop with a lot of his stitches coming apart and his stuffing hanging out of his bottom. But true to form I could not leave him there and the fact he was in the ‘please take box’ only added to his chances of my falling for him. He’s much happier now following some major surgery and doing a round with the washing machine and dryer, and of course joining the Bearable Family. A4 watercolour on Canson smooth 300gsm Annemarie Williamson

10.01.2022 Term 1 Session 5 Central School of Art Watercolours Here are some images of my demo paintings from and for last Saturday's session. During a time when the issue... of the treatment of women is at the forefront of politics and society in Australia it was a pleasure to herald the achievement of one of Australia's premier scientists and Nobel laureates, Prof. Elizabeth Blackburn, in the class. Building on last week's wet in wet to paint in the background and hair and then allow harder edges in the facial features. Prof. Einstein was similarly dealt with. The emu and the pigmy possum were suggested as the warm up pieces. As usual they are all on A4 size paper, or from the sketch books. Please Enjoy A reminder: enrolments are open for Term 2 at Central School of Art - this time 6 weeks of Wednesday evenings - please see their website for details

09.01.2022 Finally finished this one after about a month, happy with the foreground. Thanks to everyone for the support.

06.01.2022 Adelaide - despite the recent scares - is still the one of the best places I've ever lived in. Sure we have our share of inconveniences but on balance we remai...n very fortunate indeed. Local art groups are getting back and running and SAWS is one of them. So fellow members I'll be there on Saturday to share what's been happening. Meanwhile here is a sampling of my recent meagre activities in watercolour. All are about A4 in size and on a range of papers. Enjoy See more

04.01.2022 Monarto Zoo Chimps ...They are so inspirational. I have been wanting to paint these for a long time and was lucky this Christmas to visit them and get so many great photos so I guess there will be more paintings to come. Annemarie Williamson.

03.01.2022 Farewell to Haley one of our original member and past President of SAWS who is having a country SA change. Our loss is Peterbourgh’s gain. We will miss you Haley and your helpful advice and encouragement. We know you will find lots of rusty things to paint in the bush.

03.01.2022 Exploration of a near disaster! I loved the textures in this piece, from leaves, dirt iron rust and peeling paint. I achieved that but it was sooo busy, no artistic merit at all. I stopped before it was finished thinking it was fire starters, when I tried taking the top off. I think it works...last photo.

02.01.2022 So no political commentary .... just a small A4 watercolour on Arches rough from yesterday morning. Enjoy

02.01.2022 Term 1 Session 7 Central School of Art Watercolours The first two were painted as demo pieces during the final session for the first term. As usual I also incl...ude other paintings relevant to the session for reference purposes. Using just 8 colours to paint with during the term is always a challenge and I believe lead to better understanding of mixing and values. Enjoy
