24.01.2022 Creative and Performing arts have proven to be an important tool in engaging our kids and encouraging inclusion, whilst celebrating their creative talents in a fun and safe environment. Sawtell Public School successfully proved this theory last year with their own production of Wizard Of Oz, that bought together every student from kinder to year 6 in equal parts. To repay the efforts and to demonstrate how proud the broader school community is of their students, the school ha...ve undertaken a fundraising campaign to enhance these wonderful performances, by way of stage curtains. Sawtell RSL Club is once again proud to assist through our Club Grants Scheme and have donated $2000 to this cause. Sawtell Public School are still a long way off from reaching their goal! 14.01.2022 How lucky are the kids of Boambee Public School to now have access to these cool #SpheroBolts and #BeeBots! As another recipient of our club grants scheme, together with sponsorship from Lindsay Brothers Transport / Lindsay Australia and the incredible work of the schools P&C, Boambee Public are now able to further their ROBOTICS and STEM program that aims to challenge students to solve real-world problems, inspire creativity and improve collaborative and interpretative skill...s, as well as critical thinking skills. It differs from the traditional science and mathematics education currently taught in the classroom, as it uses a guided discovery approach, thereby allowing students to work independently, being hands on and at their own pace. 14.01.2022 Over the last few years, Sawtell RSL has developed a close relationship with the Uniting Church Soup Kitchen, supporting them by way of food drives and as recipients of our Club Grants Scheme. This year, they, like all business have had to adapt due to Covid 19 but everyday, the volunteers are still serving on average 40 meals to some of Coffs most vulnerable. Sawtell RSL is delighted to once again be able to assist The Uniting Church Soup Kitchen in the way of a donation towards a new air conditioner that they desperately need. 11.01.2022 Bonville Public School is now over 100 years old and still has some of the original buildings (with a few modifications). One thing missing though, is adequate storage..... This shipping container currently holds some of their sporting equipment and most of the big items that are used for concerts and presentations are held off site by school patrons, making accessibility difficult. The school is currently fundraising for a new storage facility and Sawtell RSL Club is proud to be able to assist with a donation from our Clubs Grants Scheme . There is still a long way to go before they reach their goal. 09.01.2022 Being able to keep our kids motivated and moving during such a challenging year has been made a little easier with local sport taking to the field again. Sawtell/Toormina Saints Junior AFL is one of the many recipients of this years Club Grants.
