05.01.2022 Drift Masters Australia, what a weekend. Here’s how It went down. Headed out for some practice, car felt great then in on the last lap of practice our diff exploded. Out of all our spare parts, we accidentally left the spare diff back at home. With 2 hours before qualifying dad had to shoot home and pickup the spare diff. It’s just under a 3 hour trip so the race was on. Our first qualifying battle was up and dad was still not here. Here’s when Paul from DriftHQ came up and... offered us the keys to his supercharged LS S13 and got the win! Can’t thank this man enough, if it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have gotten as far as we did. While this was all happening, Jacob Campbell was smashing out a diff removal all by himself. Then shortly after previous battle, dad arrived with the spare diff. With 2 minutes to go, we got the diff in and were up for our 2nd battle in qualifying. 3rd battle was a by run so nothing to say there. After the 3 battles we placed ourself in 4th position out of 48 drivers for the main top 16 battles. Top 16 we got the win to go onto Top 8. Top 8 we got the win, now to Top 4. Top 4 was definitely one of the favourites for the night, was up against 1st place qualifier. Battle was extremely close, we ended up getting a OMT so there we went going back up against each other. We ended up getting the win as the other driver made a mistake on entry. Now it’s time for the final battle, this was it. If we win this, we’re going to World Time Attack down in Sydney to represent Australia and guess what, we’re going to World Time Attack! On top of getting a invite to one of the worlds biggest drifting events, our entry fee is covered, free Link ECU, set of ISC coilovers, $500 and a bag of merchandise! Was such an amazing event, met so many great people, Thankyou to all the organises, Rob & Manal Whyte, staff and volunteers. Was an extremely well ran event. Thankyou to Mum & dad, friends, family and Jacob Campbell for being a killer mechanic and spotter. 04.01.2022 Not what we wanted to see with only 2 weeks out from the QLD Touring Car Championship round. Car was misfiring and something amiss at the last round and didn’t make it out for the races. Now the count down begins to have the BMW ready in time. New crank and bearings ready to go in next week.
