25.01.2022 I really struggled to find fun, gender neutral printed children's sheets for a long time. Quilt covers weren't so elusive but sheets definitely were and the option of buying separates rather than sets (way more interesting!) nigh impossible. Times have changed thank goodness. Here are my top 10 picks atm. First photo is of our kids' current bedding (we have 4 boys and a girl) which they all love. These classic prints also don't date like dinosaur/unicorn designs do.... I stick to 3 colours - yellow, orange and blue. Green is also great. I personally avoid pink, purple and blue. Hope this helps if you are thinking about freshening up your kids' rooms. Bedding is the cheapest thing to change for a new look! N.B. I have tagged in each where you can buy them from - Australian retailers.

24.01.2022 I always feel a pang of guilt buying fresh flowers...like I should have bought a plant and been nicer to the environment! But I do love the scent and colour of fresh flowers!... and you don't get the same happy high from a plant or artificial bouquets. Enter dried flowers...I've been a fan of them for a while but when I came across the @ohitsperfect "Joy Everlasting Bouquet" from their 'bloom bar' I was blown away! Amazing combination of colours, beautifully arranged and gift wrapped and brings so much joy!! Crack out the fancy linen tablecloth and cocktail shaker, let's set the table and call it a week already!! #sparksjoy #styleandcolourblogger #stylemadeeasy #driedflowers #bouquetsofinstagram #supportlocal #supportaustralianmade

23.01.2022 Totally outshone by this little

22.01.2022 So I just posted a video on my current wardrobe caspule snapped here...check it out on my IGTV if you would like some inspo atm. Some of the brands I mentioned: @bimbyandroy swim/wirefree bras and @soulquartz yoga bras... Also my denim shorts are from @legoeheritage Cardis are from @cereslife Glitzy shorts are old season #whitelabelnoba Dress is @alessandracashmere Low armed singlets are also from @soulquartz Pink patterned shirt is from @naudic White shirt I am wearing is current season @witcheryfashion and bags are @tiffmanuell All of these clothes are colourful, bright and very comfortable and easy to layer and make me feel less 'mumsy' and more myself. Happy Saturday! x

21.01.2022 Our home environments have never been more important to us than this year. Create simple pockets of joy. #vignette

19.01.2022 Hi! A little impromptu video on my current wardrobe capsule...

18.01.2022 It's #sleepover central in our house this #schoolholidays 4 kids in one room...mattresses and cushions all over the floor being creatively transformed into 'homes' How are you surviving school holidays? or worse #lockdown? x

17.01.2022 Beach days = great days.

16.01.2022 Sometimes a change is as good as a holiday!...we swapped the bunk beds out for 2 singles for our middle two children (5 and 7yrs) and did a big school holiday clean out of unused/broken toys, etc. Also put the kids' artwork in @brilliantframes.co frames rather than blu tac'd to the walls. Feels a lot fresher! Before and swipe for after.

15.01.2022 We've reached that time of year where everyone in the house is a bit fractious and overtired. The kids are counting down the school days until summer hols. And I'm counting the days left of relative peace and order before I have the utter chaos of 5 kids at home EVERY DAY for 2 months. I will be retreating to my bed and hiding under the covers!

14.01.2022 When it comes to putting bedding together, the best results come from a gradual process. Buy the best you can afford (good quality cotton - preferably organic - or linen are good investments) and as easy as it is, don't be tempted to choose 'sets' but go for separates. Sheets and pillowcases in different prints/colours/textures instead always create a superior look and feel. If you're a minimalist person, pick variations of one colour (ombre) and just mix up the textures - ...velvet, brushed cotton, silk, shaggy, etc. If you have allergies or sensitive skin then stick with one texture like cotton or linen and vary the colour or print. Bottom line? Start slowly and gradually build the layers until you achieve the look you want. Look for inspo elsewhere. And have fun experimenting!

14.01.2022 Day 3 of school holidays...how many cubbies have been built in your house already? How many times have you heard the words, "Mum/Dad I'm hungry!" or "I'm boooored!!" You catch my drift... Happy #humpday !

12.01.2022 The mental load. Got the baby down for a nap...finally. I should nap too. But I'll just put the washing out. On the way I found 2 dirty cups and plates. Took them to the sink. Where I found a few more dirty dishes. Washed those up (we don't have a dishwasher.) Remembered I was supposed to be doing the washing. Passed the kids room. Saw more washing. Picked that up. But then saw toys. Picked all of those up. Now back to the washing. Noticed floor needed vacuuming. Did that. Remembered I still hadn't done the washing. Or paid the electricity bill. Or sent off those family photos. Crap. The baby's awake again. Didn't do that washing! Anyone else relate?

11.01.2022 The days feel pretty epic atm - trying to balance the outdoor/activity needs of our 4 kids with the sleep needs of our 8 week old...and get the chores done The husband is away so my days involve chain drinking tea whilst on the go go chasing my tail (at least that's how it feels ) from 5am to 9pm...at which point I kid myself that I can wind down and read a book in bed...pfftt my head starts nodding after a few pages! #schoolholidays sure are demanding and it's hard to ...feel like your best is enough when the kids are always complaining...and when you need the support of your loved ones but they are so far away and the opportunity to travel is still a distant hope. Today was trying. Tomorrow is a new one. x

10.01.2022 It's a warm and windy one in QLD today. Might have to head to the beach at sunset with the fam and have an or 2.

09.01.2022 Anyone else been revisiting the music of their coming of age years during #lockdown ? I don't think I've ever sung so much to 90s music in my life

08.01.2022 Modern take on bridal wear - the jumpsuit. Makes me want to renew my vows! #weddinginspo2020

08.01.2022 Stepping stones. Our kids love them. Also work remarkably well as round cushions.

08.01.2022 When creative forces collide, magic is made. Thank you @tiffmanuell and @thisweepiggy - these are fast becoming my new favourites. #statementearrings #womencollaborating #hellyes #rainbowchecks

07.01.2022 Anybody else remember how lovely and clear your dining table looked before home schooling/the holidays?! #distantdream #yesitookapicture

07.01.2022 When life gives you lemons ...

07.01.2022 Aaaah Saturday. I think I love you. No getting up and organised for school. No nagging. No lunchboxes. No getting dressed. No strict bedtime. No homework. Aaaah.

07.01.2022 Have you ever bought a dress, top or dressing gown with the pre-assigned, fixed loops but the belt doesn't sit at the smallest part of your waist? It feels and looks so odd! Do what I do and take the belt out and just tie it freely around your waist. If the unused loops bother you, they can be easily snipped off

06.01.2022 CRAZY sock day! @madmiaofficial

05.01.2022 Cushions to bedding are like scarves to outfits. If you find a good colour combo in a scarf or cushion, you can use it as a colour guide for mixing and matching the rest of the ensemble #stylemadeeasy #easypeasy

05.01.2022 Back in the 80's when every other kid was probably out buying sweets, I was shopping for accessories (not much has changed 30 years on. ) Dragging Dad into Tammy Girl for the latest black choker, crucifix or Madonna pearls. But there was always something missing for me. Now I realise what that was - that when you know who made the product you are buying, it feels more like a gift. More special. Less disposable. You know the maker's values, the time, creativity, talent and s...ometimes frustrations that went into bringing a piece to life. We miss out on that a lot now when we choose to buy cheap from made overseas or mass produced. We don't get that one of a kind high. When I bought these @tiffmanuell x @thisweepiggy earrings I knew no one else would have the same pair. That a lot of time and love went into their making. That they were made from teamwork where the makers played to their own strengths and talents. And that I am supporting the livelihoods and families of people close by. That's a good feeling. 05.01.2022 Wearing my socks in support of #crazysockday at the kids' school today. Got a very cranky and clingy 7 week old following his vaccines so won't be getting much done today! #happyfridayeveryone x
