11.01.2022 Practicing drawing always feels like a chore and awkward for me. I decided this week that I need to suck it up and just do it. But then on a strange whim shifted my pencil grip and literally felt my brain shift into a more comfortable space. Somehow this stops me thinking too critically and allows me to let my hand do what's needed rather than over thinking.

06.01.2022 Another just for fun project. #xavierrudd s 'Follow the sun' has kept popping up for me lately, and for a lot of people I think. I've taken to giving mason his harmonica and playing it in the car and singing it to him at bed time.
05.01.2022 I think I'm done......... Not with art........ Oh no no. I'm done with second guessing myself (in general) and my creativity. ... I am an artist....I only acknowledged that to myself and soon after the world, just over 12 months ago, but I have been an artist my whole life. I believe everyone is. I know I know....but you are aren't creative.....give me 5 mins conversation and I can guarantee I could find something you are good at creating.....fyi making people laugh counts, making people comfortable enough to open up and talk counts, shit making your bed is an art form. Not one I've ever mastered.....Just ask my mum. We are individually and as a whole too quick to dismiss the things we are good at and neglect our desire to do them. And I feel like I'm quoting Elizabeth Gilbert but we should do those things we love with gusto. Btw her book 'Big Magic' is literally the best explanation of creativity I've ever heard. In part because it explains everything I've ever felt, from feeling inspired, to loosing ideas, to self doubt to kicking yourself in the ass and creating what ever you want as much as you possibly can. So yeah....that's where I'm at these days. And I love company, so come join me. It's beautiful here!!
04.01.2022 Sorting through some of my latest art work, can't recall if I've posted this one yet. But as soon as I found it I just thought ' Oh this makes me happy' So I wanted to share it again with this...... I've shifted my thinking over the last few months, cheers covid 19, from feeling like I wanted to create to get to some seemingly mystical point of deriving income or some recognition, to really just loving every minute of producing everything I can in every minute I have to cre...ate it. No pressure just FUN & JOY!!! More than ever I want to encourage others to find a creative outlet in life, whether by building things with steel or bricks or lace or music or dance. Create a space for YOU to enjoy the processes involved in creating something.....anything. Having said all that am going to have all my art photographed/scan into digital images to make all sorts of cool shit with my art on it. Starting with bookmarks to send with my letters.
