23.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS HOSPITALITY Lovely Feedback from a Parent Hi my name is Naomi and I have a daughter in yr8 and another starting yr7 in 2021. I attended the morning tea out the front of the school last week on orientation day and I’d just like to say how absolutely awesome everything was. The students from hospitality were great, taking orders and going back and forth to the cafe to make the coffee... so polite even when I asked for extra sugar and milk. The food they made really surprised me, I just couldn’t believe how fantastic it was... man can they cook, especially the cinnamon scrolls. So really what I’m wondering is when will this cafe be open to parents full time... haha I wish.

19.01.2022 On Friday evening, four of our Year 9 students and members of Lakes Surf Lifesaving Club combined with a few others to rescue 18 members of the public who had been caught in a rip near the rocks at Soldiers Beach. Ben, Brayden, Daniel and Cooper acted decisively and with little equipment except one rescue board to participate and coordinate the rescue. Ben and Brayden are regular patrol members of Lakes and Daniel and Cooper have recently commenced their Bronze Medallion. The... President of Lakes Surf Lifesaving Club has submitted a nomination to Surf Lifesaving NSW for their actions to be recognised as 'Rescue of the Month'. After reading the report, it is absolutely gratifying to think these young boys, through INFLAME have developed the skills and competencies, combined with an outstanding demonstration of our values; Courage, Compassion, Wisdom and Stewardship to engage in a community service that has led to such a successful outcome. No doubt we will hear more on this as the report makes for compelling reading. Congratulations boys, these fortunate people owe you their lives. See more

09.01.2022 Good Afternoon Parents/Carers We have received notification of a live suicide being streamed on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok today. The clip is extremely graphic. I wanted to warn you and ask that you check in with your child if you think that they have seen this today. We do not want to inform the whole student body, as we feel it will trigger their interest and some will deliberately search for it and watch it here at school. We are also receiving reports that ...trolls are using videos of puppies and kitten to lure kids into seeing the video. It is also being inserted into videos of kittens on Tik Tok. We strongly recommend keeping your children offline today if possible, and heavily supervise all social media interactions until this content is removed. These major social media sites have been notified. Paul Lynch Assistant Principal
