15.01.2022 Unclog the Sink A clogged drain in the sink is a nuisence. There are chemical cleaners designed for this, but they tend to be rather harsh. And they are probably bad for both the pipes and our health. One worthwhile alternative is to use vinegar and baking soda.... Start by pouring boiling water down the drain. Then pour a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. This will produce a lot of foam. Let this settle, and your drain should at least partly clear. Repeat if necessary. They use steam to effectively clean and disinfect floors, so there is no need for chemicals. They also remove the need to have a seperate bucket for the water, so cleaning is quicker and easier.... Steam mops are ideal for tiled floors, and seem fine for vinyl. But there is some concern over wooden floors. Certainly unsealed timber will be harmed by steam. Sealed floors should be ok, but it might not be worth the risk considering the expense of good quaity timber floors.
