20.01.2022 We are soooo excited to have been given the opportunity to work with @SugarFreeForMD and @mdnsw on their social media marketing (both paid and oragnic) this year. This campaign and charity is having an *incredible* impact on kids & adults living with neuromuscular conditions such as muscular dystrophy in NSW, ... and now more than ever the Muscular Dystrophy community needs our support. I'm (Jarrah) also joining the challenge personally and going sugar free this September (goodbye to eating a whole block of choc at 10pm errrry night) to raise funds and give opportunities to kids living with the challenges of muscle wasting conditions... 19.01.2022 This project? A huge career highlight for me (Jarrah) and undoubtedly something I’ll be talking about for years to come. It’s projects like these that truly help me grasp the fact that my job is so much more than social media marketing. 12.01.2022 Expectation VS Reality of running a business 18 months into running a company full time and I’m finally accepting that *this* is what a successful business actually looks like behind the glamorous social media posts, and perfectly curated Instagram stories we seem to bombarded with on a daily basis these days. I remember when I first started SBJ, I dreamt of something that looked completely different to this (probably involved me actually leaving my desk or maybeeee e...ven doing my hair?) Now? I’ve accepted and actually embraced the fact that a successful business isn’t always so glamorous behind the scenes. It takes long hours, hard work, difficult decisions, sacrifices and a LOT of faith in yourself. I’m guilty of posting and hiding behind our branded photography and perfectly curated social media feed when in reality this is what work looks like for me 90% of the time (particularly since Covid). So, ... this is me today. Messy gym hair, wearing borderline pjs/active wear, sticky notes everywhere and haven’t moved from this seat in going-on 6 hours now... (my Apple Watch hates me). That said, I’m actually really content with how the business is progressing, the clients we get to work with, and the life I’m building for myself along the way. Here’s to many more messy-bun-days at my desk... I’m genuinely SO grateful for them. See more

04.01.2022 I've said it before and I'll say it again... people do business with brands they know , like and trust This is why it's sooo important that we, as businesses/brands, *give* without ever expecting anything in return. Come to think of it - this has subconsciously been a huge component of our social media strategy - particularly in the early days when I built our audience from scratch. Right from day-dot, it's been a no-brainer to hand out free social media advice, ti...ps and tactics to our community (without expecting anything in return), ... while also encouraging our followers to do the same through "value-adding" on socials. This year has seen me (Jarrah) say yes to a lot of (what some would call) working for free. I've spoken at conferences for free, been a guest speaker within multiple online programs for free, audited FB ads campaigns for free, given out personalised social media advice for free, ... and more. I obviously say yes to things with discretion and ensure it's something that 1) I have time for and 2) I have the resources to meet the needs of the person I'm helping. SBJ's generosity has never been an intentional growth tactic, but lately I've noticed a lot of it coming back to us through word-of-mouth recommendations, new clients, raving reviews and more. In fact, I've actually been quite silent on our social media platforms as of late (to make room for my growing workload)... but to my happy surprise, our community and portfolio continue to grow through word of mouth alone - and I genuinely believe I have this company's generosity-mindset to thank for this. #ItsFreeToBeKind See more
