22.01.2022 Greetings Balalaika fans, we hope you are having a wonderful week so far. For those of you in the Southern Highlands region of NSW, we will be performing this Sunday October 28 from 1:30pm at Robertson School of Arts. Tickets will be available at the door or via our Events page, we hope you join us for another wonderful Sydney Balalaika Orchestra concert experience!

22.01.2022 We are excited to be making a special guest appearance at the Hills Harmony Showcase this Sunday, performing as as a Sextet (6-member) ensemble to assist raising money for Lifeline. Hosted by Hills Harmony Chorus, the showcase will feature barbershop music sung acappella by chorus and quartets, as well as a host of other amazing guest ensembles. Tickets are available via the event link below. We hope to see you soon supporting this wonderful event!

22.01.2022 При первом знакомстве с сиднейским оркестром Балалайка зрители удивляются не один раз. Удивительно, что оркестр играет русскую музыку на другом конце планеты,... в далекой Австралии более 30 лет, и с каждым годом расширяет состав музыкантов и приобретает новых друзей и поклонников. За эти годы коллектив побывал с гастролями не только в соседней Новой Зеландии, но также в Китае и Южной Корее, с огромным успехом гастролировал несколько раз по России, в Москве и на Дальнем Востоке. Когда руководитель оркестра Виктор Сергий рассказывает о своем коллективе, зрители с удивлением узнают, что из почти 30 австралийских музыкантов оркестра, лишь пятеро говорят по-русски, остальные имеют самые различные этнические корни: среди них англичане и ирландцы, датчане и поляки, армяне и китайцы и многие другие. А объединила их всех вместе в Балалайке любовь к русской музыке. Ежегодный концерт в сиднейском Русском клубе в Стратфилде прошел 28 июля с большим успехом. Большую часть зрителей в зале составляла нерусскоговорящая публика, за многие годы оркестр смог успешно зарекомендовать себя среди австралийцев. Конечно, как всегда на концерте присутствовали российские соотечественники, а среди почетных приглашенных лиц были российские дипломаты. 15.01.2022 Hello balalaika fans! We hope you are having a wonderful start to Autumn while we continue to rehearse for our upcoming performances in Australia and abroad. Our next concert will be at the Ulladulla Civic Centre in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Click the event for full details, we hope to see you all soon!

14.01.2022 Thank you Ryde Secondary College for having our sextet group perform with your students at the RSC String Ensemble Concert. It was a delight to witness so much talent in such a young ensemble of musicians, we anticipate great things of each and every muso. Well done! Balalaika fans old and new, our upcoming performance this Saturday at Putty Hall, NSW still has tickets available and is set to be a seasonal highlight. Likewise Blue Mountains Theatre, Springwood NSW on the 7th of April will feature a slightly grander repertoire with new arrangements and revived classics. We hope to see you soon!

12.01.2022 It was St Patricks Day. And it rained. It poured. It deluged. It was the Orchestras first concert for 2019, in Ulladulla, 230 kms south of Sydney. We played ...old Russian favorites, transporting the audience to the wintry steppes, our soloists shining with their brilliant solos. We introduced our new male singer, Danny Hawk. Its great to have a distinctively Russian, male voice back on stage! Despite the very wet day, the Orchestra had a fabulous time. We hope the audience enjoyed it just as much! See more

08.01.2022 While most of us have a Christmas break and getting ready for a start of new concert season, a small group was invited to perform at Russian Consulate reception where our Musical Drector Victor was presented with Award for continuous contribution and supporting Russian Culture, Language, History and liaisons between our Countries. We performed a few pieces for appreciative public and had a good time and enjoyed great reception!

04.01.2022 One of our SBO Members visited Talashkino (Russia) last Autumn where beautiful balalaikas were painted by Russian Masters in the 19th Century. We thought the beautiful pictures look very Easter!
