24.01.2022 Wow! Where has this year year gone! With only a few weeks until Christmas please feel free to let me know of movements over the New Year period. We can work together if you are needing any home or holiday training options or just a mindful chat of enjoying this time of the year! 21.01.2022 I was chatting to a fellow PT in regards to form and self assessments. I encouraged her to use technology and video herself to self assess her form when a spotter was not available. Videoing our own form allows us to see what we are doing and what we are doing well and what we might need to adjust. It is a very useful tool within our industry for self assessment and for illustration to clients how their body is executing certain movements. It can be a little daunting to video yourself in a public space, but remember it is a tool! Adding to your data for either your own or client progress and education. So if you see someone filming themselves on certain lifts they are more than likely doing it for their own education and development, not just for Insta

10.01.2022 Sporties Health & Fitness have increased class sizes! This applies my Strength Class on Thursdays! They have also increased creche capacity!! Call them to book your creche spot and group fitness class!!

07.01.2022 Progressive overload doesn’t always have to be lifting heavier. It can be lifter for longer or more reps and sets. It can also be improving form. I haven’t lifted 100kg for 2 weeks as I had backed the weight off and made the movement more difficult by executing a deficit deadlift (will do a deficit deadlift video next hopefully). This variation focus on the pull from the floor, which is my biggest struggle on heavy deadlifts. As you can see by the comparison today’s 100kg lift (in maroon leggins) my technique is so much stronger!
