24.01.2022 This was a severe case from the other day, a donkey that had been left for years. Poor little man was rescued and the owner was recommended by the vet to give me a call to handle the donkey and fix his feet. Thought Id share some photos with everyone so people can see some of the more complex jobs I work with.

20.01.2022 Covid19 Update Hey everyone, we have been receiving numerous calls and messages in reference to whether horses feet and freeze branding are still being done. We would like you all to know that it is business as usual :) I will be sanitising in between clients and following all government protocol to ensure we all stay safe. ... If you are concerned or happen to be in self isolation please let me know as we can work around it. We have eftpos facilities as usual. Like everyone and being a small business the cancellation of all our horse competitions has had an impact, however if any of our clients are experiencing financial hardship or have found themselves unemployed, we will try our best to help so your horses can still receive the best of care in these troubling times. If you have any concerns or want to check in with us we are only a phone call away. Sean & Nadine

19.01.2022 SALE TOPPER at $1.9m! He was the only yearling in the sale by the late sire-sensation Deep Impact, and Lot 385 from the Redoutes mare Honesty Prevails has comm...anded a price worthy of that accolade. The beautiful colt has sold to owner Ottavio Galletta via Litt Racing for $1.9 million. Honesty Prevails won the Gr3 Widden Stakes in 2016 for trainer Rick Worthington, and this colt is her first foal (continuing a run of highly sought-after first foals this sale). He was consigned by Arrowfield Stud as agent, and we congratulate them on an amazing result!

17.01.2022 Great video to show how close we get and how perfect it needs to be
15.01.2022 People often ask for before and after photos on my specialty corrective cases, which is often difficult when im the one underneath the horse! But here is a case from the weekend, a horse with severe laminitis. Unfortunately this pony was incorrectly trimmed for an extensive period of time. Note the change and the angles after only one trim....he was one very happy pony trotting freely afterwards. :)

09.01.2022 Just returned from another fantastic Kangaroo Island trip, despite the boat being a little more bouncy than other trips! It is a pleasure to work with such a beautiful group of strong community focused people. It makes me happy seeing more clients feeling confident enough to put shoes on their horses, simple because they are starting to trust my reliability. We are very lucky to be watching the process of regeneration too.
09.01.2022 Bushfires can create their own weather, generating pyrocumulonimbus clouds and storms These clouds can cause dangerous and unpredictable changes in fire b...ehaviour, making the fire more difficult and hazardous to fight. So, how do they form? 1. A plume of hot, turbulent air and smoke rises. 2. Turbulence mixes cooler air into the plume, causing it to broaden and cool as it rises. 3. When the plume rises high enough, low atmospheric pressure causes its air to cool and cloud to form. 4. In an unstable atmosphere a thunderstorm can develop: pyrocumulonimbus cloud. 5. Rain in the cloud evaporates and cools when it comes into contact with dry air, producing a downburst. 6. Lightning may be produced and can ignite new fires. Find out more, including how our scientists are working to be able to predict them, in our blog: http://ow.ly/3t1i50x8nM6 For the latest fire weather warnings see http://ow.ly/tbTN50x8nz8, and follow advice from emergency services NSW Rural Fire Service Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES ABC Emergency
