13.01.2022 Octopus children have been expressing interest in shapes and patterns. The Educator introduced this sand tray with flashcards for the children to draw in the sand. It is very amazing in how clever these children are as they were able to copy these patterns, well done!!

08.01.2022 Today we celebrated Chinese New Year!! The children loved learning about the different animals that represent each year. This year is the Year Of The Pig. Lantern making & watching the Dragon Dance is a great way for the children to learn more about Chinese culture.

06.01.2022 HURRY 2020 KINDERGARTEN SPACES ARE FILLING FAST Due to an increase in demand, Scallywags will be providing 2 Government Funded Kindergarten Programs in 2020 delivered by a Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teachers.... Children born between 1st July 2015 to 30 June 2016 are ready for Kindergarten in 2020. Eligible families can access 2 days of kindergarten per week FREE during school terms. We have limited spaces remaining. Please contact the centre on 41518188 as soon as possible to secure your position.

05.01.2022 In the Octopus room, we have been busy exploring about which animals live under the sea. Children have been learning and developing their social skills as they play cooperatively, negotiate and share equipment.

04.01.2022 This week we have started learning about the letter d! We were quick to identify that dinosaur starts with d. So we decided to use various drawing mediums to create our own dinosaurs! We then used our verbal language skills to name our dinosaurs, identify the habitat that they live in, the food they eat and even their ages!

03.01.2022 Jellyfish children are exploring mathematics with the scales and rocks. They were very interested to work out how to make the scales balance as one side was always heavier than the other.

02.01.2022 At Scallywags we believe it is valuable for young children to help care for animals at a young age, this helps them develop care, empathy, and respect. In the toddler room, the children have the opportunity to look after and interact with Leo our pet Budgie and Lizzie the Blue Tongue Lizard.

01.01.2022 Celebrate Harmony Day tomorrow 20th March!! Dress in ORANGE

01.01.2022 The children were given a shopping list of fruits that they needed to collect and add to their shopping baskets. Each fruit had a different number that needed to be collected and found. The children used the tongs to add the fruit to their individual baskets. To extend on their interest in this activity we then added the cash registers and after the children completed their shopping list they were then encouraged to go to the cashier to make their purchase, handing over money to buy their shopping. The Jellyfish children needed to use their counting skills along with their fine motor skills to collect the fruit from the tray.
