25.01.2022 Took my first customers out on the river today - Tim and Ros from WA. Tim is an experienced Bream fisherman and wanted a crack at some Scamander River Bream but unfortunately rain in the last few days had muddied the water making the fishing difficult. Even so he managed a few fish but no biggies.

25.01.2022 My new flyers arrived today thanks to Fargo, can't wait to get them out into all the local tourist accomodation places

22.01.2022 Have had a round of the national Hobie Bream Tournament here this weekend. The river has been very busy with about 60 kayak fishos competing

17.01.2022 My insurance should all be sorted on Monday and Scamander River Kayak Tours will be open for business :)

16.01.2022 With the heavy rain we had late last week the river mouth opened and all those Bream I had been catching were able to get out to sea for their return trip to the bay at St Helens after completing their breeding here in the river. The water is very murky too making it very difficult to catch the remaining resident fish for the time being though it should clear again soon

12.01.2022 Pictures on the river

12.01.2022 Caught my biggest Bream ever yesterday in a place I had only tried once with no luck. Those mad Bream Comp fishos who were here last week would fish in a puddle given a chance and after the comp tried this spot and pulled out some much bigger fish than in the river.

10.01.2022 Got an email from Marine And Safety Tasmania today confirming that they have granted my Licence to Operate so I can now get my Public Liability insurance and hopefully start taking customers next week :)

07.01.2022 Been having great success chasing Bream in the shallows on foot using surface lures - about 40 caught and released in the last 3 days

04.01.2022 Took Sydneysiders Andrew and Sue, and their three lovely daughters Monica, Nicole and Sophie, out for a tour on the river this morning. It was beautiful and calm and there were lots of other Hobie kayaks on the river all practicing for this weekend's Hobie Bream competition.

02.01.2022 Took some more out on the river today - Greg and Molly, father and daughter from Melbourne. Greg wanted to catch fish and Molly was just tagging along. Greg and I both caught two fish each, mine were both good legal size whereas Greg's were both, well, same size as the lure :) Both Greg and Molly enjoyed a beautiful relaxing morning on the river despite the fish not wanting to be caught and got a good view of a pair of Sea Eagles relaxing on a branch overhanging the river

02.01.2022 Scamander River Kayak Tours are closing up for the Winter months but will return next Spring allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful river and maybe even catch a Bream or two
