23.01.2022 Hi guys, just wanted to make another shout out for Outpost Film Festival. If you are a local film maker who would like to get your film shown at Fringe festival next month, please get in contact. We put together this lowkey event last year to give local filmmakers some representation at the Fringe World Festival. As Fringe world is showcasing local Perth artists to the larger community we thought it would be cool to give the larger Perth artists community a chance to see what... has been produced in the last year. The event is quite intimate and low key, and we just thought that we could help facilitate the local community and help people make connection. This is a non profit event, so please get in contact if you would like to help in anyway. This could be anything from telling a friend, submitting a film, helping with promotion, or coming down to see what others have shot this year. 22.01.2022 Hello everyone! The Agony, The Ecstasy and i is a dance theatre show running at the Blue Room Theatre for three weeks from the 16th of April. Directed by Cara Phillips (SCAPA Director) and starring Laura Hopwood (SCAPA acting and physical theatre teacher), as well as dancer Tarryn Runkel, come and see this show if you want to see an example of how dance and theatre can co-exist. The show is rated M 15+ for occasional language.

22.01.2022 The Writer is a 2 hour quirky romance film created by SCAPA directors Pete and Cara Phillips. It is Rated PG and is screening this thursday at Outpost film festival. It features lots of original music by singer songwriters. Think a quirky Love Actually, crossed with a bit of "Bridget Jones Diaries, with musical inspiration from Once, and the other-worldliness of Babel. 15.01.2022 Dear SCAPA people, It is with sadness that I write to tell you that Pete and I are no longer financially able to run SCAPA, and so we will not be able to continue running in term 2.... During this holidays we have been investigating many options, including handing the business over to someone else, but so far no one has been able to take it, and we cannot afford to continue. Were sorry that we wont be able to continue this journey with you all, but we hope that you will all continue your passion for the arts in some other way. If you have already paid for classes for this term or any other, we will refund you these payments in the next week. For those people who are involved in taking ballet exams during this next term, we will be providing some options so that this can still happen. Either Andrea Noebauer or ourselves will contact you shortly about this. Andrea is actually conducting her own classes at other locations, in both ballet and pilates, so if anyone wants to continue classes with her we can recommend these to you Andrea is an excellent teacher and knows all our ballet students well. Andrea has kindly offered that ex-SCAPA students can have a discount for their first term with her, you just need to mention that you were with SCAPA. 13.01.2022 Check out this funny dubstep track written by Charlie during the SCAPA Teen dubstep programme! Crocodile named Claude. https://soundcloud.com/pete-phillips/crocodile-named-claude... The holiday programme was heaps of fun with the boys learning to write a dubstep beat. How to play a wobble bass. Learning about dubstep song structure, and recording and cutting glitch vocals. With no musical experience necessary before the programme the boys wrote their own songs over the 5 evenings. Some were serious some were funny. If you are interested in coming down next holiday to make your own song keep your eye out for the holiday programmes! It way heaps of fun for every one involved and participants went home with their own song and a free demo of the software reason used to make the track.
