14.01.2022 Bunions normally present as bumps or a swelling on the side or top of the big toe joint. The bone and tissue surrounding the joint becomes misaligned due to undue pressure on the toes. This is a common foot condition normally, made even more common in women due to our poor shoe choices. Narrow, pointed-toe footwear pushes the big toe towards the other toes, causing the joint to protrude. High heels make the issue worse as it forces the toes into the front of the sho...e, further squishing them. In women, the biggest prevention method would be making sure you are wearing shoes with a larger toe box to allow your toes to sit comfortably and have enough room to wiggle.
