A new way to experience Maria Island, th...e cruise will depart from Darlington and require you to catch the Maria Island Ferry over to meet the cruise. This allows you to design the very best experience in one day! Take the cruise in the morning and enjoy a hike or bike ride in the afternoon. Our 2.5hr cruise will depart Darlington at 9:30am and requires you to take the 8:30am ferry sailing. Once aboard the cruise we will take you around the remote east coast of Maria Island to Riedle Bay, enjoying all the wonderful sights of the Fossil Cliffs, Mt Bishop & Clerk, Mistaken Cape, sea caves, waterfalls and of course the famous Painted Cliffs. Upon returning to Darlington at 12 noon, you have the flexibility to chose your own return time from Maria Island on the ferry. The perfect way to compliment your cruise is to stretch your legs and enjoy a walk through Darlington’s convict buildings, learn about the town’s remarkable history and come face to face with Maria Island’s resident wombats. If history is not for you, then simply soak up the sun on Darlington’s beach or hire a mountain bike and hit some trails! Cruises will be offered on each Monday from October 5th until November 30. It comes in addition to t...he $7.5 million already allocated to vouchers for accommodation and tourism experiences, aimed at boosting tourism in Tasmania. The voucher program will open 7pm next Wednesday and will be available via a dedicated hotline as well as the Make Yourself At Home website. The interest (in the first tranche), I must say, did surprise all of us, Mr Gutwein said. Gone in 38 minutes was just extraordinary. I am certain there will be incredible demand for this again.
