24.01.2022 We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful contributing artists who made Hand in Hand at Project Contemporary Artspace possible this year! We were absolutely thrilled to benefit from your kind support. With your creative energy, artistic talent and generous artwork donations, we were able to host a truly beautiful exhibition during National Harmony Week. Thanks to you, Hand in Hand attracted over 250 visitors and supported 5 emerging artists from refugee backgrounds to share their works with the wider public. We're also excited to announce the winner of the People's Choice Award for Hand in Hand 2019. The winner is Mr Peete Jowanie for his work 'Generations to Generation'. Congratulations Peete!

13.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came along the Community Night fundraiser at Five Barrel Brewing at the end of February!

12.01.2022 It is with regret that SCARF has decided to cancel the next trivia night at The Little Prince, Wednesday 25 March. This comes at a bad time; we have just grown our trivia team this year and the trivia night in February was a great success thanks to combined efforts of everyone involved. However, the well-being of community members and volunteers is our top priority. This also extends our dedicated supporters. This does, however, affect SCARF financially. Last month we raise...d almost $900 and this income is vital to the ongoing success of SCARF's programs and services. Please consider buying a "solidarity ticket" for this month's trivia: www.trybooking.com/BGAJS If you want a bit more bang for your buck, please consider purchasing SCARF merchandise which can be purchased over the phone and posted: www.scarfsupport.org.au/scarf-shop Or make a donation: www.scarfsupport.org.au/donate Thank you for your ongoing support and we hope to see you at the next trivia night.

07.01.2022 Dear SCARF supporters, As you are all aware, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation. The health and wellbeing of our community members and volunteers is our highest priority and at all times we aim to match our decisions with the best information available.... We are still currently offering a drop-in service to community members, while also encouraging people to get in touch via phone and email first, where possible. We are reviewing what capacity exists to safely deliver our other programs and are putting plans in place for SCARF to continue to operate with some reduced and much adapted service provision. This includes looking at opportunities to use technology to run some activities virtually. To help us maintain our ability to provide support to the refugee community, we ask that anyone visiting the SCARF office please adhere to social distancing guidelines released by the government: www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-information-on-soc Once again, thank you for your support, empathy and kindness. 03.01.2022 As we come to the end of 2020, we reflect on the year that was; a year marked by traumatic events that touched us all, and changed the way we all live. But during these hard times we take courage from our community members who have shown strength and resilience through the hardest of times, and taught us that compassion can make a difference. This year we found new ways to connect, and thanks to the SCARF volunteers, staff, funders and supporters we continued to provide supp...ort to the SCARF community in innovative ways. We look to the new year with optimism and excitement about opportunities for growth, continued expansion of the SCARF programs and all the new volunteers that we are yet to meet! Thank you for you continued support and we look forward to working with you in the new year <3
