24.01.2022 Denis Mukwege is a hero of the highest order.

23.01.2022 This is awesome... thanks Bismack Biyombo ...

23.01.2022 A wonderful encouraging letter from Helen with great news. Don't forget to partner with the great work Helen does, by praying for her or supporting her financially. On my way back to the Congo from Australia in August I had a 12 hour layover in Johannesburg airport, and it was during those very long hours that God started to talk to me about "open doors". I had no idea at the time just how many He was going to open! I met some people at the supermarket one day and after we g...Continue reading

20.01.2022 WOW, HOW WONDERFUL!!!! Great news from Helen Ennis about her beautiful friend Heritier. Many of you know the story of Heritier, who at 17 killed his friend by stabbing him in a fight that started over food. He didn't mean to kill him that night but the boy bled to death. I had only been working with the street kids for a few months then and it was an eye-opening experience to me for life on the streets. At the time it turned my whole life upside down, but it was the beginni...ng of my ministry starting inside the prison. It was also the start of countless late-night trips to emergency in a hope that it would never happen again! Heritier served three and a half years for what he has a lifetime to live with, and was granted early release due to good behaviour two weeks ago. His original sentence was for five years. (He was a minor at the time). I've watched him go from being an angry young man who himself had suffered a lifetime of trauma, to becoming a leader who discipled others inside the prison. When he was released, he hugged me so tight, I thought he was never going to let me go, thanking me over and over, telling me "you never gave up on me Mama Helena, I can never thank you for that". . . . . . . aww, you just did! Love and acceptance are far more powerful than some people know, we all need somebody to believe in us. For most it is a Mother or a Father, but for others it's a kiwi chic that God places in their lives for a season. I have enrolled him in a mechanics school starting on Monday, it's a year long course designed for those who haven't finished school, so much of it is practical with very limited reading and writing required. It's a new start for him, a second chance . . . . . . everybody deserves that! Love and blessings, Helen

13.01.2022 It's overwhelming to see what the DRC faces

11.01.2022 More News from the inimitable Helen Ennis. Please consider supporting Helen in this new venture, in prayer and financially. So, here I am five weeks later finally getting around to sharing my vision for 2020! But, better late than never right . I have pretty much locked myself in my house this weekend with strict instructions (more like warnings tbh) not to be disturbed! Not only so I could try and get this out but because I desperately needed some head space and time alone....Continue reading

10.01.2022 Another fantastic post from Helen Ennis - the work she does is amazing! I can't believe January is almost over already, where does the time go? Sometimes I feel as if the days all run into one and before I know it another week (or month) is over and I don't feel like I've accomplished anything! Christmas and New Year both came with there fair share of hospital visits from fighting and excess alcohol, some serious and some not so much. One in particular was pretty bad. I alwa...Continue reading

05.01.2022 Oh yeah baby. My kinda gal. What you lack in tunefulness you can make up with volume and gusto! Nicki Sims

02.01.2022 Another email from our woman in the DRC. It's wonderful to hear Helen's news. Please keep praying for her, and any support you can give will make a huge difference to the people she works among... I don't know if it's the same for all of you but I feel like the days, the weeks and the months are all just blurring into one at the moment! Most things are still closed here and every 30 days they review it and then extend it again. While we wait the suffering worsens, so many hun...gry people, prisoners are dying by the dozens of starvation! I have tried to find out the exact numbers weekly but am not able to, maybe that's God's grace for me? Last week I received a gift from a Church in my home town in New Zealand and was able to purchase 700kg's of dries beans for the prison. That same day I bought and distributed 1000 kg's of flour to many families who I know are doing it very hard, there was singing and some tears and lots of joy! We have roughly nine months of rain and three months of dry season here, the rains cause chaos every year and as much of Bukavu is on a hill and many houses are only are built in soil, they come tumbling down every year! It's like catch 22, they know it will happen most years again and again because they cannot afford to build firm foundations, then in the dry season they try to rebuild. The house below belongs to the family of a lady who worked on the mission (I loved her, she was so kind to my boys), she died of HIV/Aids. As you can see it came tumbling down in the rains and they are now rebuilding. Myself and two other missionaries were able to fund it for them. I've said many times that I wish my supporters could see the changes they are making in people's lives; without you it would not be possible. So, thank you, from them to you and me to you . Love and blessings to you all, Helen.

02.01.2022 Wow.. this woman is the Bomb!! Sherelle Murrill check her out.

01.01.2022 This song is so stunning and I love that the Christians of different nations are singing it over their own country... thank you South Africa. Lynn Swart
