22.01.2022 Just like many of us, dog's love corn on the cob! While the corn itself is fine for your dog to eat, the cobs can be very dangerous. Your dog cannot digest the solid cob and if swallowed, it can cause an obstruction (blockage) in the intestine or perforation; even small corn cobs or chewed pieces of cob can be a problem.

House provided and if you need some extra time with accommodation to explore the region or Fraser Island then you are very welcome. Normal Locum rates.

19.01.2022 You all know our beautiful Mila, also known as the welcoming committee, but there are times when we need to keep her behind the desk for safety reasons, but she still needs to see what’s going on so our fearless leader Dr Lily made this little gem which Mila thinks is pretty cool, what do you think?
16.01.2022 Have you heard of the NDN? No? NDN stands for National Desexing Network, an amazing organisation who's mission it is to have Zero stray cats. The life of a stray cat is a very sad one, they are most often flea and worm burdened, diseased, they suffer from cat flu, you name it. That is why we, as Vets choose to participate in what we see as an invaluable service. Hervey Bay and surrounds has an overpopulation of strays, we would like to see this get to ZERO and put an end to their suffering, every cat deserves a warm, safe home. Through NDN the cost of desexing a female cat is $65. a second female is $55. A male cat just $55. To apply, simply call NDN on 1300 368 992, apply for a voucher and nominate Scarness Vet as the participating Vet

11.01.2022 Hello, Due to information we have received and with how numbers of coronavirus are rising again we cannot put our lovely team at risk. So we have put back into place some precautions to keep us safe so we can continue to care for all of your gorgeous fur babies! We are back to one person per animal into the clinic and consult rooms. If you have travelled recently we please ask that you be honest with us. Like we said earlier in the year we will not refuse treatment to your a...nimal. If you are experiencing flu like symptoms please re schedule unless it is an emergency! Many thanks, The Scarness vet surgery team
